Shit, nothing wrong with that universe. Probably the most interesting to ever come out of the Transformers, when you get down to it: it's a big part of why I enjoy Transformers Prime, though it's not something that will make me read the books. And yes, I will accept most kinds of gameplay because gameplay is only one component of experience, and I've been waiting to play as Grimlock since I was two Christing years old. There's more to experience than a single metric against which to measure things.

There is nothing ridiculous about my reservations concerning MGR. Ooo, we got some really quick cut-aways between Raiden attacking enemies unimpeded! Ooo, no hint of how the combo system works or if it exists! That isn't gameplay, it's about as illustrative as a cutscene is but it isn't as dynamic. The most exciting thing about the MGR trailer is its tone, and what that suggests about the direction of the game, because the gameplay just isn't there as of yet.

And I'm sorry but I listened to the Transformers Movie soundtrack, growing up, more times than you've eaten chicken. That album was great when I was ten, but it failed to do one thing and that was age gracefully. The only track that still stands up properly - it's been a couple of years - is the... I think it was Lion doing a metal cover of the Transformers theme.

Stan Bush's songs involved little if any "screaming metal guitars", since it was almost all synth (like the entire cartoon was nothing but cheesy 80s synth music, though I still love it for nostalgia's sake). The only metal songs I can recall besides the main theme are "Hunger" and "Instruments of Destruction", and both of those songs were awful. Awful.

In my post I said 80s screaming guitars. Any music that i associate with old transformers has the 80s guitar rifs and solos...synths too...80s is the key word. Main theme, Dare, The touch...anything stan bush pretty much. I must hae replayed the end credits song to the first high moon studios transformers game 30 times. I dont think those types of songs aged badly at all especially when considering actual musicianship involved in playing them. Yes they were cheesy but they were willingly cheesy. Current transfomers soundtracks are just as cheesy but dont realize it and are serious in delivery and tone which is rediculous to me.

I am not sure what kind of a gamepla showcase you wanted to see in a 2 minute trailer for MGR. At least gameplay was shown and it looked like it has potential. Works perfectly fine as a sample showcasing the greater things to come. I liked the trailer as a standalone entity as it had these little things which appeal to me. The 80s guitars for one... :D

Nobody in the whole world is defending the soundtracks of the recent Transformers movies, but I think you need to go back and actually give the original movie's soundtrack a listen again because except for one or two pieces (and the main theme was by Lion, not Stan Bush) it is a shambles. Now that isn't to be taken as acquiescence to the idea that Transformers soundtracks are somehow worse than they used to be: like I said before, the Transformers Prime soundtrack is completely suitable and will stand on its legs in a few years in a way that the original show's failed to do.

Seriously though

Seriously

Try listening to that soundtrack again, and then come back and tell me how cool all that synth is

okay, i have a question, Khuutra, does it hurt you or something when someone has a different taste or opinion as you? i mean you keep TRYING to make people like what you like and trying tooooooo hard as well, not everyone have to share your views.

Disolitude is good people. I don't hold any illusions about being able to change his mind but I'd like to at least carry out the conversation to its logical conclusion, because I anticipate either I will learn something or I will show someone something they hadn't thought of before.

Cool thread. Good VGA overall.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

Just watched em all, impressions:

Mass Effect 3:

*fap fap fap* :P
Will be on of the best titles of next year, I'm sure.

C & C - Generals 2:

Hopefully the 'new' Bioware studio can get this franchise back on top again, likely day one buy for me.

Fortnite:

Looks like a defence game, looked fun enough, will have to see more on it before I decide.

Alan Wake: American Nightmare:

Day one buy for me.

Bioshock Infinite:

Definitely looks like a cool new setting, and seems bigger than previous games, I like!

Hitman: Absolution:

If they manage to make pretty big improvements in the animation department, I'll likely get this.

The Last Of Us:

Overhyped.

But the trailer did look pretty cool, if this ends up being more: I am Legend, than say; Left for Dead, I might just have to dust of my PS3.

.

I have totally no interest in any of the other games in the trailer list, so I'll refrain from smacking on them here.

Diablo 3 looks cool and the last of us was interesting as well

and what was that godzilla fight at the start?

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

The only thing I dislike about the Mass Effect 3 trailer is that because I'm British, it misleads me into thinking I have to wait until next June.

A bunch of CGI-footage and interactive movies, how exciting.

Mass Effect 3 looked amazing! :D
C&C Generals 2 looked good, but I'm curious to see how the actual game plays, and I loved the first Generals too :D
The Last Of Us looked great, but I'm not sure how the game will be played yet

Watched the Amazingly (lame) Spiderman trailer, looked ridiculous. And as if to cement my disinterest in both it and the movie reboot, they stole a Reaper from the Mass Effect series.
