Was anyone surprised at Zelda: Skyward Sword getting a 10/10? This makes it IGN's 5th 10/10 this gen, when previously the only console game to ever get a 10/10 was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Is this Zelda as good or better then Ocarina of Time, or just nearly perfect compared to other modern day games?

Do you like the 20 point system IGN has this gen? Does it make sense to give any game above 97/100 a perfect score? and then the other AAA high quality titles 9/10's or 9.5/10's? Is IGN just lazy?

Do you miss the old review system?

Also if you don't like IGN, which websites do you trust reviews from consitantly?

In all honesty (IMO - very important to say that), VGC does a lot better job for reviews now days. Only 4 games have ever scored above 9.5/10, and I think they deserved it. Can't wait for their Zelda review.

A title, which is a sequel to that 10/10 game, which will definitely be better, got a 10/10 from that same publication.

i suggest you stop and go buy the game.

I think a lot of sites are guilty of giving inflated scores, but there are always others who balance it out with lower scores

I don't really care either way though, the only opinion I trust is my own :)

Anyway I really don't care if a game gets 9.5 or 10 the message is the same, buy it.
Still yes lately I don't understand why certain games get very high scores, but it's not an issue I have only with IGN.
It just seems like my tastes are getting more and more distant from the "l'air du temps" tastes.

i don't think GTA IV deserved a 10, should have been a 9.5 or higher

but Zelda is Zelda and is always brilliand and with Motion +, so i guess it deserves the score even without playing the game yet

COME ON, there are so many games where voice acting has added so much to not only the story, but the emotional aspect of the game.

I don't care about Mario 3D or games where story itslef is a after thought, but a story driven adventure game such as Zelda ??

Nintendo continues to ignore this and game reviewers continues to reward them with perfect score. *sighs*
