M$ price cut soon but looks like Europe sell well for Sony.

Are some of you people really posting that gibberish up there, most of you don't know what you're talking about..... You're combining your bias with the market, and saying it WILL do this and it WILL do that... you can't say that, you don't know what will or won't happen....

You assume things would happen though, and chances are, either XBOX 360 drops in price by 20% or more, OR, why would they? Unless Microsoft don't want to look bad after declaring XBOX 360 would be the top selling console globally, why throw out profits, when XBOX 360 is selling amazingly well, it is easily the 2nd BEST selling console this year, microsoft would cut the price though just to be competitive, a $149 or $179 360 is probable in the americas or a cut of from the 4GB model, and a drop to $199 for the 250GB XBOX 360 would also make sense. Assuming they don't want to keep loosing market share.

OT: 2m is too large a gap to overcome. However, if MS do nothing about it until late 2012 then they PS3 could surpass 360 some time next year. Then again, if 360 had a price cut it could surpass PS3 again.

MS is in a financial position to be able to cut the price, the real question is will MS announce a price cut or do they have something that will send sales soaring Thur the roof .Am guessing they have something ready in the wings for when this moment arrived ,it's a wait & see thing.

ps3 cuts their price -- gap closes -- people get excited -- 360 price cut -- gap widens -- people get sad -- ps3 cuts their price ....

lets see. so PS3 is currently according to vgc numbers is about 2.7m units behind the 360 and the running predictions on vgc from most members are 58 to 64m for PS3 by yrs end and 61 to 68m for the 360. on average i'd ruffly guess PS3 needs to out sell 360 by 200k-500k in order to close the gap and pass 360 ww by yrs end which i'm not 100% sure can happen.

with MW3 cock blocking most any chance PS3 has of doing that i'm so sure its not possible i'd bet my sig on it. but on that same note shooters have been doing real nicely on PS3 of late and EMEAA has been overtaking 360 Americas every wk then its close to possible.

200k more a wk with PS3 selling 3m units in Dec. and Nov. would put PS3 at 1m ahead of 360's lowest prediction. if i rounded the numbers i'd say 1,3m ahead of 360 ww.

i'm also not sure if Nov. and Dec. 4 or 5 wks. yea i know its in the sells threads for this wk but can someone tell me if 360 is down in EMEAA, and if PS3 Janpan is up or down yoy?

Like I said, I expect a sales boost with a price cut, but 6% isn't anything to get worked up about. Not enough to concern MS at the moment it seems.

Nothing wrong with boasting about it, but probably not worth sacrificing profits just to hold that title. Sony appears to be sacrificing profits to get that title.
