imo the line-up is still pretty much shit. by the end of the year there will still only be 2 games i personally think are worth buying -- super mario and mario kart. 2 games that are undoubtedly very very good but still a pretty weak line-up overall after almost a full year on the market.

...and maybe monster hunter. never played one so i'm not sure if i'd like it so maybe 3 games.

Tell me, did both the PSP or the DS had so much of a better line up after their first year to consider the 3DS line up shit?

And you used the key word, what you personally think. I also think that the Vita line-up is worthless to me, because there's not a single game that I want, even Uncharted and the only one games i'm looking forward so far are Persona 4 Golden and FFX remake. That doesn't entitle me to call the Vita line-up shit, because that wouldn't be the right thing to do.

Is it indeed a remake?...or just remastered to high definition?...remember there´s a difference.

I didn't say it would be a grounds-up remake. There weren't any additional details from TGS, so we don't know if they're only doing a HD remaster or a remake with the Crystal Tools engine.

a real remake just sounds too good to be true...remember the difference between the original Resident Evil on PS1 and the remake that was released for the GameCube?...I´d like to see something like that with FFX, but sadly I think chances are slim.

I would love to see that myself and I think S-E should at least implement some changes to some aspects of the game, such as getting the sigils...I'm not gonna go dodging 300 frigging lightning bolts all over again... >_>

Man, that´s got to be the most frustrating task I´ve ever seen in a game..it even tops dying in Dark Souls when you had 70.000 souls and couldn´t make it back to your dying spot >_>

Oh you poor soul...try having 3,5M souls on Demon's Souls and losing them all.... I stopped playing it for a week after that

But yes, it was very frustrating on FFX. That and winning almost 100 blitzball matches for Wakka's Sigil and the frigging butterflies for Kimahri's. Heck, compared to those, the 0.00:00 time needed for Tidus's seemed like child's play xD. I hope they look into that for the remaster/remake.

Haha, it wasn´t me...an acquaintance of mine went through the shitty experience, he just gave up on the game.

I´ve put Dark Souls aside for some time now that I´m busy with Batman AC, Uncharted 3 and soon Skyrim (this one will consume most of my time for at least 3 months)...there´s Zelda too, almost forgot...it´ll be hard finding time to play all these games.

By the way, since you like RPGs so much, here´s one that might interest you:

You´d do well to keep an eye on it.

Wow, that game does sound pretty good. It's like a good console version of titan quest/diablo meets the gameplay from Fable. Really something to take a look at (and it releases in a good time frame, since I have nothing for January/February).

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

Let's Compare the first eight or nine months for both the 3DS and the DS. I'll focus on games that had average scores of about 4/5 or more.

DS:
Advance Wars DS
Kirby: Canvas Curse
Meteos
Nintendogs
WarioWare Touched

...and not much else. Surprise, Surprise. Big games like Mario Kart DS, Sonic, Castlevania, and Animal Crossing didn't come out until the DS's second holiday season.

3DS:
Dead or Alive Dimensions
Ocarina of Time 3D
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked
Star Fox 64
Super Street Fighter IV 3D

Once again, only five games. Admittedly, all but one of them appeared on another console in some form, but there is more 3rd party support on the 3DS.

So, basically, Nintendo is repeating its past. Considering how the DS turned out, I have no complaints.

Rarely do I ever call games software.

I'm not modifying any definition. Just because you misinterpreted my comment doesn't give you the right to belittle me and cause an argument.

That does look good, but the animations are a little hefty and I prefer a game where casts are rapid, otherwise I have little patience for it. Story is aparently deep, but is the atmosphere good? For example Diablo is all about the dialogue and the atmosphere, the music, dim lights and themes of sanctity and desecration, nobility, moral judgement and inconspicuous characters. Is this just another modern-day pulp or can I be pleasantly surprised?

Wow, how did we get all the way here from the 3DS drought? :S

Somehow the 3DS line-up went to the Vita line-up to the adaptations that FFX remastered should have along with Dark Souls intricacies and finally this new RPG XD.

Indeed, we've fallen a lot from the OP! Sorry to all >____<

It was a nice 'detour', though :)

I'm not optimistic but I'd love for it to pick up soon...

A game I'm developing with some friends:

www.xnagg.com/zombieasteroids/publish.htm

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

@ROL hmm you're right. There were a few games I forgot about there 'cos I never got 'em(although to be fair, Kirby's Canvas Curse-as it was known here- and Advance Wars ds didn't come out in my country until 2006 and back then I wasn't into buying stuff from overseas... and I was never a fan of ANOTHER CODE although I did purchase it out of curiosity. So I'd still say that personally the 3ds line up is better (to me).

I guess this time around nintendo figured they could get away with an early launch and live off this for a while and then gain momentum around holiday season...but we all know how that panned out.

I said by developers so i mean the definition in gaming, not in dictionary, it's a gaming thread. XD

No big deal since its hasn't been a full year and the 3DS will have some great games to choose from by the end of the year.

But I don't see the problem with having a drought. The Vita isn't out yet......so it makes sense to have a drought and release your big hitters when it actually matters....when your competition is actually coming out.
