I'm still not convinced.

The current software out and the future line-up is now decent, so is the price. I'm still not convinced, it still has it's problems, some of which they can never change.

Yeah, big problems, like these big problems from now on:

Tales of the Abyss, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Super Pokèmon Scramble or Rumble (depends on the region), a new Shinobi, Sonic Generations (for 3DS it's a totally different game), Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy, Resident Evil: Revelations...yeah, big problems for this winter.

I wasn't talking about games, I was talking about hardware, software and a few other things.

Not that the games you mentioned are anything to shout about anyway, some of them are good but it's still considered an average line-up, especially for the holiday period.

Tales of the Abyss and Mario though, that's tempting.

Software = Games.

Software = User Interface, features, online play, friends system, online browser.

Rarely do I ever call games software.

You can't modify a definition already given by developers. *facepalm*

Yep, that's a great lineup.

Are there any respectable RPGs out for the 3DS yet? I plan to get a used 3DS and all i got some far on my list is RE:Revelations and KH3D.

imo the line-up is still pretty much shit. by the end of the year there will still only be 2 games i personally think are worth buying -- super mario and mario kart. 2 games that are undoubtedly very very good but still a pretty weak line-up overall after almost a full year on the market.

...and maybe monster hunter. never played one so i'm not sure if i'd like it so maybe 3 games.

Tell me, did both the PSP or the DS had so much of a better line up after their first year to consider the 3DS line up shit?

And you used the key word, what you personally think. I also think that the Vita line-up is worthless to me, because there's not a single game that I want, even Uncharted and the only one games i'm looking forward so far are Persona 4 Golden and FFX remake. That doesn't entitle me to call the Vita line-up shit, because that wouldn't be the right thing to do.

Is it indeed a remake?...or just remastered to high definition?...remember there´s a difference.

I didn't say it would be a grounds-up remake. There weren't any additional details from TGS, so we don't know if they're only doing a HD remaster or a remake with the Crystal Tools engine.

a real remake just sounds too good to be true...remember the difference between the original Resident Evil on PS1 and the remake that was released for the GameCube?...I´d like to see something like that with FFX, but sadly I think chances are slim.

I would love to see that myself and I think S-E should at least implement some changes to some aspects of the game, such as getting the sigils...I'm not gonna go dodging 300 frigging lightning bolts all over again... >_>

Man, that´s got to be the most frustrating task I´ve ever seen in a game..it even tops dying in Dark Souls when you had 70.000 souls and couldn´t make it back to your dying spot >_>

Well, the DS then also had a lot of nice-to-have and not must-have for the people that didn't want to get the DS as well xD.

Now that was a handheld with a first year drought.

At this point in the lifecycle I owned seven or eight DS games, but I only own two 3DS games. The DS started terribly, but it still outpaced the atrocious 3DS. Of course there's an onslaught of games coming in November/December, so the 3DS actually isn't that much worse, but rather equal.

But still, considering the circumstances, it's shameful for the 3DS.

? What 8 games did you own and were they actually good and/or 1st party? Lawdy knows, I certainly had trouble finding games for the ds during it's early days!

I remember buying my ds in feb of 2005 (when it was first released in my country) and being stuck for months with a crappy demo of Metroid Prime Hunters and a remake of Mario 64 which I couldn't play cos i hated the controls.  Next,as I recall, I waited 'til May for the ok-ish 'Yoshi's Touch and Go'...then zip/nada/zilch 'til mariokart ds arrived around mid-november. Can't recall anything else of note being released between then and the following year- Metroid Prime Hunters (march? 2006 I think) which sucked anyway...(oh, there might've been a CASTLEVANIA game in there too but I'm fairly sure it arrived in the last 3rd of the year)

That was my pitiful first year ds experience, so in comparison, the 3ds doesn't seem so bad to me.

Oh you poor soul...try having 3,5M souls on Demon's Souls and losing them all.... I stopped playing it for a week after that

But yes, it was very frustrating on FFX. That and winning almost 100 blitzball matches for Wakka's Sigil and the frigging butterflies for Kimahri's. Heck, compared to those, the 0.00:00 time needed for Tidus's seemed like child's play xD. I hope they look into that for the remaster/remake.
