People are awesome, crazy things. Life is exciting and at times unbelievable. You don't need a belief in any higher power or purpose to experience those things. I can't understand the claim that atheists should find life worthless, if anything atheists are the ones that should beyond all realise the brevity of life and as such try and experience it to the fullest.

Wasn't gonna post again, but totally this.

Because to me it seems like all religion does is cause shit over the world. I don't mind people practicing it, as long as they don't try to convert me (I am looking at you, Jehova Witnesses).

Besides, the religious debates go nowhere.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

You obviously started this thread just to argue with people, it's funny since you imply atheists can't experience the joys in life, and you're the one being angry and argumentative. What the hell is your problem man? Can't you just live and let live? :)

OF course not, it's not the christian way!

So basically...This thread was for Snakenobi to basically lure Atheists into admitting they had no faith in any higher power, then proceed to demean, insult, and be condescending to them all. This was all just some not-so-elaborate ploy so Snakenobi could push his religion on us while telling us just how ignorant, hopeless, and weak we are for not following his made up god. He's trying to sell religion with underhanded, dirty tactics, and in the process making a caricature of himself. Basically, you know that super ignorant, closeminded, rude, pushy, judgemental religious person all the militant atheists like to point out as their reason for hating religion? Snakenobi IS that strawman.

Basically, Snakenobi IS that stereotypical religion pusher that won't listen to logic and honestly feels that the only way to save people is to convert them, aggresively if need be.

I've made a lot of posts about religion, I've even made a few threads, and while the initial post seemed innocent enough, the subsequent replies from Snakenobi definitely deserves a lock and/or ban. This is simply unacceptable.

I kinda hate myself for typing anything on this thread, but your closemindedness kinda gets to me. If I've learned something it's that you should never argue with religious people cause the arguments never go anywhere.

I was hoping I wouldn't have anything to do with this thread (considering it's obvious snake made this thread just to argue for the sake of argument), but I just wanted to say: You know that goes both ways, right?

The reason why that is is different depending on which of the sides you're arguing with.

There is no real evidence of anything supernatural having ever happened. Therefore I don't believe in anything supernatural, which makes me an atheist.

religion isn't about supernatural things happening, not all are atleast

anything supernatural happening will disturb the perfectness of this world

This world isn't "perfect"

so you fell into the trap that children are born with religion of their parents.i know that thinking, most people have it

anyways, pantheism and Buddhism isn't about somebody telling you about what is correct or not,it is about you deciding.

That "trap" really isn't about thinking, it's something that just goes on your birth certificate.

Not picking any religion is also all about me deciding, so I don't see why I should bother with what any religion has to offer when I already have what I want.

There's a religion section on Austrian birth certificates? ... That just seems wrong and inappropriate.

A lot of places (most) have a religion section on birth certificates/IDs...etc

I had no ideea. As I said, it seems quite inappropriate, intrusive, and outrageous (there's really no point in putting such a section on a birth certificate, as infants don't have any religious beliefs).

Basically this, as well as some facts that god/religion state make no sense and are contradictory to what is actually real (according to my personal experience)

I'm talking about theistic religions here, not pantheistic...etc.

For these religions, one thing proven false means the entire religion is false due to the fact that they claim perfection (aka the 'it's the word of  god therefore it must be 100% perfect' argument) and that's why I don't believe

That's why I don't really trust random demographics reports...etc. On paper I'm actually muslim lol, not worth upsetting my parents over it so I just leave it (Most Middle Eastern people are devoted muslims, my parents grew up there so...)

**Add to that the fact that in islam, the religion literally tells you to execute anyone who "defects" from the religion (aka doesn't wanna be muslim anymore lol) - Thankfully, I'm not stuck in a place that actually does this >_<
