guys do you have any informations how much the studios get from tv stations around the world for the movie rights?

i read somewhere some time ago that they sell movie packages to the station (at least here in germany) but i have no clue how much they have to pay for the packages with a few movies/series in it.

for example disney expects to lose $200m with john carter right? but won't the dvd/digital/blu-ray sales and the sales to tv stations around the world bring a lot revenue?

i really would love to know how much the studio got for avatar as example from around the world from the tv-stations for the rights to show avatar!

Great drop for THG! $350M would be SWEET ! It doesn't have too much competition until The Avengers releases,so I guess it's very doable !

The Hunger Games should stay on top of the U.S. box office until The Avengers comes out on May 4th but it could drop out of the top spot before that simply because too many people already seen it.

It would need some amazingly small drops to achieve such a feat, but even so,it will reach $350M before The Avengers come out.

Nikki put up Saturday estimates

SATURDAY PM/SUNDAY AM, 5TH UPDATEOverall the weekend looks to be down around -11% from last year which may make Hollywood nervous going into the all-important summer movie season starting in May after a super-heated 2012 first quarter. The difference in this weekend’s close finishes were a matter of MPAA ratings and theater counts. Lionsgate’s PG-13The Hunger Gamesscored the most theaters this weekend and beat the competition for the 4th straight weekend. Fox received its hoped-for Friday and Saturday family fare matinee bumps for the Farrelly Brothers’ PG The Three Stooges, which played in more runs than Lionsgate’s R-rated The Cabin In The Woods. Interesting to note that both Stooges and Cabin were greenlighted by then MGM production chief Mary Parent — and then taken over by other studios when MGM couldn’t handle its debt load. CinemaScores were as follows: Fox’s The Three Stooges ‘B-’ (‘A’ from audiences under 18, ‘C’ from 25 and older), Lionsgate’s The Cabin In The Woods ‘C’ (‘D+’ from females), FilmDistrict’s Lockout ‘B-’. Interesting how the Stooges reviews were better than expected, especially from top-end critics who found genius in that silliness. But not as good as Joss Whedon’s much anticipated horror pic which received truly stellar reviews, including 93% positive on Rotten Tomatoes.
