Holy crap! I was not expecting Gravity to have anything near that. Luck?

Rush is doing quite bad. Racing movies like this seem to always do bad. Plus they guy from John Carter is in it. He could not make a hit movie if he was in The Hobbit part 2.

Surprised at the Poll. Really? Catching Fire over the Hobbit?

On a side note, most movie seem to be doing pretty well on the chartz. Cloudy not too big, but should do well. Anything is better than what Turbo pushed out. What a horrendous movie!

The Hunger games did make 100M more than The first Hobbit, I would be very surprised if Catching Fire doesn't beat The Hobbit.

Thor did pretty good this weekend still think it will make slightly less the DM2 world wide.

It won't be that close, Thor will make about 700M and DM2 already made more than 900M.

$161m debut for Catching Fire.

700? My prediction is it will barely cross 600m so a bit under Man of Steel...what terriotries does Thor have left?

I had expected more than this from THG: CF in 2012, but after Into Darkness managed to decrease from the first,I learnt to lower my expectations - this opening is in line with them. Very good nonetheless, not many huge original movies have an equally huge sequel.
