only people who don't play Zelda, Mario, Metroid and whatever think these games are rehashes. if they were actually rehashes these games would not exist today as people would have grow tiered of them and just not buy them. and sometimes a game that uses the same gameplay mechanics are good as there might still be things that could be expanded on and people just want more of the same like Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. those games are truly outstanding games and i am really happy they made a galaxy 2!

I think it's mainly Mario that pushes that notion, and whilst MS and Sony do milk some franchises, 5 Halo's in a genn, isn't the same as 20+ Mario featured games ...

Its not the rehashes. Its the fact that Nintendo hasn't made an excellent new core ip in ages. At least uncharted is a new ip this gen.

well i have no problem with old ip's getting new games as long as their of good quality which nintendo does right. People should just play what they like and stop downing what other people like.

Well there are different genres for Mario unlike Halo that is only FPS (not sure if there is an RTS as well)

Having a Mario kart and a Mario platformer or RPG is different than just one genre. Only 4 3d Mario platformers in three generations plus one 2D.

how do we know th people who make these claims against Ninty r not the same ones making claims against COD, etc.? There not mutually exclusive. IMHO NINTy is the best when it comes to NOT milking their franchises. There has been one current gen Zelda on consoles and it hasnt even come out yet. I dont count that TP port. 2 3d mario games, big deal, there have been 3 R&Cs on PS3 alone and one on the way. One could make the argument against Mario, but he is a mascot/licensing bitch, its his job to be everywhere. THe only series i can think that NInty really abused is Mario Party, but even then we havent seen one in a while.

not sure where you been, but there has been a Halo RTS, Halo Wars. And there have been 2 2d Marios, one for DS and one for Wii

Anyway, Ninty can make an Action-Adventure game (Zeruda) but instead name it Teruda and then there's a new IP. Or at least is what people will believe (want).

I'm not a nintendo hater. As OoT and mario 64. are in my top 5 games ever.

I just don't like the wii. On a basis of the graphics were outdated, the day it came out. I'm not a graphics whore as Trails in the Sky is my favorite game this gen (it looks about as good as FF7). But, when developers that have lots of money (unlike nihon falcom). Don't even try in this department. It's annoying.

And I don't like motion controls if sony, nintendo or microsoft does it.
