Forums - Movies & TV - Zombieland vs Shaun of the Dead

Wait, Shaun of the Dead was supposed to be funny?

But seriously, Shaun of the Dead is the most over-rated, over-hyped piece of garbage movie out there.

Zombieland had Woody, nuff said.

Here he goes again.

Shaun of the Dead by far. Bill Murray was the only great part of Zombieland, but they killed him off after about 5 minutes.

Zombieland was somewhat okay. I've probably seen every zombie film ever made and Shaun of the Dead is somewhere on the top of that list. Brilliant movie.

Braindead. The other two are good but are but pale copies of this classic.

Plus they don't have a priest kung-fu fighting zombies.

Braindead? What year was that movie out?

Shaun of the dead was funnier, both good films though

I love me some Braindead but I can't see how Shaun and Zombieland are copies other than the fact there's a romance and zombies in all three films.

I've seen Shaun of the Dead a month ago and I can't remember the ending of it to save my life. Can't be a positive sign.

Edit: Ok, so i've checked out the plot and it's obvious I didn't see all of it...I can't remember why. It's wierd that it didn't bother me. Can't be a positive sigh...was I very drunk??...

1992. Looking at IMDB you might know it as Dead Alive if you are from the US.

@Chrizum: yeah, copy may be the wrong word, but imitators inasmuch as they all are Zom Rom Com (though the term was invented by Shaun Of The Dead AFAIK).

I don't really mean it as a slight as you can't avoid a certain amount of imitation in art anyway and they are great on their own; It was more about me emphatically expressing my preference for Braindead.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. I have seen Dead Alive.
