I'm so over hackers...............

God that's fine if you've got beef with Sony but take it out on them, all these attacks are hurting us as consumers.  Why can't we just play our games in peace.

Why can't some people just use their ps3 as they please? Why must sony go on a rampage and take people to court? They just want to use their equiptement as they please, I mean they did buy it.

They took one person to court for releasing their trade secrets to the whole world, which could have financially devastating effects on their business.  It's not crazy, absurd or in any way outlandish.  It's smart business by Sony as they have plenty of attorneys sitting around on payroll.

They didn't hurt this poor wittle guy.  They got him away from their products (And he signed off on it).

Did you miss the not trade secrets... and not allowed to take him to court for it post?

Odd, he did get taken to court and agreed to a deal that sounds awfully similar to a non-disclosure contract that an employee would have to sign.

Oh right, it's not a trade secret because you said so.  Gotcha.  ;)

No... it's not a trade secret because the law says so...

Please show it.   I'll wait for definitive proof.

It's called wikipedia bro.

"The disadvantage is that there is no protection once information protected as trade secret is uncovered by others through reverse engineering, for example, whereas patent has a guaranteed time of protection in exchange for disclosing the information to the public."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trade_secret#Definition

Trade secrets only deal with employees... and only when those employees sign Non-disclosure acts.

Though yeah... Companies sue people and get their way even when they're in the wrong ALL THE TIME.  Heck look at Sony VS Bleem!

Bleem won EVERY lawsuit Sony threw at them, but went out of buisness due to sony repeatidly sueing about the same things that were denied every time.

do you own a ps3?

Why does it matter?

it matters because obviously you didn't play the game during that period and trherefore you do not understand what happened... the hacks im speaking of are not host leaving or whatever im talking about game breaking advantages

Ok I will back you up here.

Yes, Call of Duty in that time period was unplayable, so unplayable that I went out and bought the XBOX 360 version.

MW2 has been fixed now but COD4 still suffers a bit.

exactly thats my point dsist6er who obviously didn't play the game on psn doesn't understand that

I'm sorry but how the hell did they manage to turn this into an argument?

I am sick of people commenting who have no idea what they are talking about. They just disagree with you for the sake of it.

You need to read a few more post up  brendude13.

dsister never said it did not happen or didnt exist.  He saif it was patech which is true. o_O.Q has been trying to make some weird points from some unrelating things is all.

The posts are coming in too fast, I can't keep up with it.

Anyway, I'm confused, what point was dsister trying to make then?

I only have one serious question regarding this... What is their power level ?

damn hackers...if only Jack Bauer were real he find those bastards and tear them a new one...oddly enough before posting here I was watching a news report on how foriegn hacking could lead to military might/war.

Admit it. Most of you who are happy that Sony are being hacked and encourage this behaviour, defending the hackers are just fanboys of your respective consoles (Xbox/Wii)

I just look at the profile of these Sony bashers and they are the Wii/Xbox people. What if your precious console gets hacked instead? You'll still encourage these hackers?

I am neither an xbox or a wii person. I am however anti root-kit person, and really anti anything that fucks with my consumer rights. Sony just has happened to excel at that.

i own a ps3 and played it so i was speaking from experience... the issues were a widespread problem affecting my friends also

edit: obviously when i say "unplayable" im not saying that the game cannot be loaded up and that you can't get online im actually saying that the cheating reached a point where trying to play competitively against people fairly became very difficult because the cheating was so prevelant

Ok, I'm going to drop this now. Because we both have different views at this. One side is saying it was far from unplayable(just called my friends and they said maybe 1 in every 10 matches there was a problem) and you saying you couldn't play it competitively.

btw I own a PS3, but find any CoD after 2 to be a waste of time

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Who exactly is "encouraging" the hackers? And to answer the question I couldn't care one bit if Ninty or MS were to be hacked... Unless a company actively employs me, I don't care at all about them.
