That last claim (take it or leave it to the locals) is proven many times all over in Africa as well. Current borders are what Europeans basically left behind, not what the actual regions of given tribes/groups was. Which ended up pairing anemies in the same country in several places which leads to all the senseless infighting that is occuring.

You're making it out as if the British imported a ton of Jews and handed the land over to them or even invited them there to begin with. The reality is that the Jews had been returning to Palestine for centuries and especially in recent decades, and in fact the British attempted to restrict Jewish immigration after taking control. Everything that followed was the result of tensions between the Arabs and the Jews eventually exploding.

If there's a lesson to be learned, it's that mass immigration doesn't work out well.

No, the situation exploded when England gave the jews land in the middle of the Middle east which had been under Islamic control for a long, long, LONG, time at that point. Even the ancestors of the jews were at that point muslims (modern palestenians).

The riots of the '20s and '30s were in response to Jewish independence in 1948? It's the other way around, I'd say.
