Again learn your history.

The Jews were forcibly removed from Israel by the romans after the Bar Kokhba revolt.  This was like... the third time Israel tried to fight for it's land.

The jews DID fight for it when needed, were lost and then forcibly removed by soldiers.

See what the US did to native Americans for a comparison.

It's irrelevant to discuss historical claim in this case. Nobody seems to give a damn about Serbia's historical claim to Kosovo, and why should the Israelis' be any more valid? Japan conquered Korea in the early 20th century as part of an ancient historical claim (territory of Silla on the mainland was part of the Japanese Empire when it first unified around the year 600), and that is an act that is viewed as reprehensible

Uh, I think we know why nobody cares about Serbia's historical claim.  It's called ethnic cleansing.

Anicent claims do mean something when there are basically zero modern claims... and you know.  Israel is there.

Serbia's there too. Unless we're stating that modern actions can void historical claims, which would also be a point against Israel, given their use of internationally illegal weapons in suppressing the people of Gaza

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

As I said, the British fucked everything up, and they should have just given up some spit of land in England if they were so eager to make a place for the jews.

The jews were slowly trickling in the region from well before Israel, due to tolerance. I didn't try to make it sound like they just realized they were unwanted, that was a fault on my part. I am also aware that Palestine has not been ruled locally in a long time, between the Byzantines then all the different Turkish. At the same time what we call Palestenians are those people who just happened to be in the region and they changed their culture depending on whoever was in control then.

See this is where I think your logic falls apart. Why do people who didn't have the will to stay and figure something out should be able to just come back and have back their land? They didn't fight for it when it was needed, nor did they assimilate to keep its claim. The ones that did have a much bigger claim to the land than the ones that just left and therefore deserve control over it. In one case you have "fuck my beliefs, let me have my land," and in the other you have "fuck my land, le me have my beliefs." The jews that were banished made their choice clear they don't care as much for their lands, so they don't deserve them.

Edit: I do agree more or less on the course of action you outlined, however I am just arguing how much claim Palestenians actually have to the land.

Again learn your history.

Some of the fought, and then died. The rest got exiled due to failure of assimilation with the new conquerors. There have been genetic studies that have shown that the current Palestenians are very close genetically (paternal) to the Jews, and is currently believed they just happen to be the ones that converted whenever a new religoin came blowing in. The original Jews either got defeated, thus they lost their claim of the land, or relinquished their claim when they put their faith over their land. In either case, the original jews deserve no claim to the land. The jews who became christians and then muslims and generally stayed in the area have far more claim, seeing how they gave up their faith to keep it.

You do know... espiecally in ancient times... casualty rates were extremly low right?

I had to look this up for the revolt you mentioned, and some roman consul said that the casualties were pretty steep, even for our times.

You mean, AFTER their claim was taken away by the UN, and AFTER Israel received material support from Europe?

Yes. Is it any sillier than saying the Jews lost their legitimate claim to the land after the fucking Roman Empire rolled them and put over half a million of them to the sword? That wasn't exactly "fair", either.

So, did the UN, or to be more specific England, roll in and decide to live there? Israel didn't do shit they were just handed the right back in the 40s.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the Romans' victory didn't hinge on outside help either.

Which the Arabs disagreed with, to be sure, and they appealed the UN's decision to recognize a Jewish state by launching an invasion. Their objection, of course, was overruled when Israel pwned them hilariously.

I'll just put my edit in here.

I don't recall the Roman Empire's success and victory in rolling over the jewish revolt hanging on extrenal help. Correct me if I am wrong.

The onyl reason Israel is where it is is because of England. THe only reason the jews weren't rolled over again, is because of extrenal help again. None of this is even remotely close to the Roman Empire who just rolled in by themselves, and using their own resources put down the revolt.

I disagree that's the only reason that Israel is where it is, as a lot of people have had ideas about relocating it or erasing it altogether but have so far been thwarted. But leaving that aside: if the British conquered it fair and square with their own resources, they can give it to whomever they like, can't they?

All subsequent victories were only based on the fact Israel withstood the initial one. Had it not there wouldn't even be an Israel for it to defend itself.

Also I disagree with the statement of the British. Either occupy it themselves or leave it to the people who have been there for a while, in this case the modern Palestenians (who are genetically similar to the Jews in the first place, meaning they are the ones who just stuck around and didn't leave due to not tolerating changing of their beleifs in fairy tales).

That alst claim (take it or leave it to the local) is proven many times over all over in Africa as well. Current borders are what Europeans basically left behind, not what the actual regoins of given tribes/groups was. WHich ended up pairing anemies in the same country in several places which leads to all the senseless infighting that is occuring.

That sounds very... arbitrary. The world has never worked that way, and it never shall.
