You're making it out as if the British imported a ton of Jews and handed the land over to them or even invited them there to begin with. The reality is that the Jews had been returning to Palestine for centuries and especially in recent decades, and in fact the British attempted to restrict Jewish immigration after taking control. Everything that followed was the result of tensions between the Arabs and the Jews eventually exploding.
If there's a lesson to be learned, it's that mass immigration doesn't work out well.
