EMEAA this gen > last gen.... all down hill rapidly from here on?

yep, its pretty much over... 51 38.64%

no way, price cuts mean 2011>2010. 61 46.21%

see results 20 15.15%

Total:132

Well, this gen numbers are already superior to those of last gen. There are still great titles coming out and a lot of room for price cuts for everyone, especially PS3, so, i believe that a few more million for evey console and then probably they`ll go down, even with price cuts.
And if Wii 2 really gets revealed sales will be harmed even more.

Price cuts will definitely help sales and could push 2011 almost on par with 2010 I guess, but it won't surpass it. So I would say it's down hill, but not rapidly.

2012 - Top 3 [so far]

                                                                             #1                                       #2                                      #3

I'd wait till shipment numbers I don't really see a reason why EMEA market would be down so badly when USA have YOY growth for PS3/X360

If we see 75-100 Euro price cuts this summer i think we will see slight growth by the end of the year, if there are no price cuts it will definatley be down YOY, i think we are close to the starting point of the dowards slide, but i dont think it will be a rapid one.

As always. haha

OT: I agree with what people said above, price cuts will help a lot, 199/299€ for HD consoles after 5 years is still not low enough to penetrate the market the right way. I can't count how many friends I have that had a console last gen and who can't afford one this gen. sub 199 price will help a lot. For the Wii I don't know... teh doomzedz!!!1! I guess

Wait for adjustments!

...OOPS! Wrong answer in wrong thread.

Anyway, all the three of PS3, XB360 and Wii can still, with price cuts, bundles, big releases and other moves, get more sales, enough to be able to avoid rushing next gen release. Relative yearly or seasonal maxima are still possible, but absolute ones maybe not, particularly for Wii.

I agree with you.

While there will always be sales spikes around big releases, overall we are reaching that magical saturation number.

Agreed, we'll definitely see spikes with pricecuts, but I don't think we're going to see any of the consoles set new yearly sales records in EMEAA.

We're reaching saturation... Not there yet.

Pricecuts could slow it down some I guess, although yeah you're right... Looks like it's all downhill here on a total Marketshare base. One or 2 consoles still could be up YoY this Year but... Meh.

Comparde to the 90's it's way up, SNES only sold a measly 8M there.
