Forums - Sony Discussion - Anonymous stops attack on PSN (doesn't want to harm customers)

They shouldn't be called journalists then. Maybe bloggers? Opinionators?(Phineas and Ferb reference)

A more appropriate thread title would be...

Anonymous stops attack on PSN (Anonymous experience backlash from gaming community.  Hacking efforts thwarted by Prolexic Technologies.)

That's better.

PSN was being attacked for awhile, even with Prolexic Technologies help. Seriously the two side of this whole thing is starting to annoy me. On one side you got a group of people, who are negatively impacting PSN and the other side is individuals acting like nothing is wrong.

The other side is also a group of individuals that will eat up anything that is negative about the first side....like families are being attacked and treat it as fact.

Damn right they better stop =l

Ummm no, they are carrying on just not going for PSN by sounds of things. Why do you think they are even doing it?

Maybe because they are a bunch of douchebags for offending legit consumer such as I by harming my right as a consumer?

1. Sony must allow for end-user modification of the PS3, as was available prior to the 3.21 firmware update.

2. Sony must end any attempts to bring legal action to alter a product they own.

3. Sony must not pursue legal action against any collected IP address.

I dont understand this situation at all. We can have an argument on whether there is a morality issue to the benefits of hacking etc.

My stance is that if i hack a toaster i buy to toast faster, id have no trouble with the law. If i hack a toaster i buy to toast faster AND allow me to walk through metal detectors without it going off allowing those who use the same hack to do the same thing I'm not only acting irresponsibly but my hack directly promotes illegal activity directly intended to thwart existing laws.

The fact that this whole thing is revolving around fear of prosecution does nothing more than prove what was going on was in fact illegal. You cant be prosecuted and convicted of non crimes, and please spare me the innocent go to jail for murder etc argument. This is pretty clean and dry.

The fact these guys left the voicemail on the judges phone, post emails about CEO's playing WoW show they are in no way noble and courageous as their defenders paint them out to be.

There is discretion in court cases, the bulk of this case will be based around intent....voicemails, exploiting emails about warcraft etc. show intent isnt noble of Anonymous and anyone here thinking that GEOhotz posting a little disclaimer about not endorsing pirating while promoting his homebrew which enables that capability is getting taken advantage of is dumber than i ever imagined.

i stopped insulting policemen only because i realized that in the time they beat me to a pulp they could help other people

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Been away for a while.  Got banned for something stupid last year.  Didn't come back because of it.  Then this idiocy with Anon happened so it got me curious to see how the users here will react.  They say curiosity killed the cat.  I ain't no cat.  Oh, and this:

http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/85415/playstation-network-becomes-unstable-as-hacker-attacks-continue/

As I said earlier, "douchebags."

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.
