Wii first party library vs PS3 first party library?

PS3 1st party library 175 46.05%

Wii 1st party library 178 46.84%

Both 17 4.47%

Xbox 360 1st party library (vote me) 9 2.37%

Total:379

Definitely the Wii for me.

- Mario Galaxy (and its sequel)

- Smash Bros. Brawl

- Animal Crossing: City Folk

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I didn't know there was going to be a poll coming into this thread, but reading the title alone, I was going to post:

"If you like fresh, new IPs, all the time, with some of the classics franchises sprinkled on here and there to quench your thirst, then definitely Sony has the better 1st party. If you still wanna play, by and far, franchises from the 80s....still...then sure, Nintendo is better".

I saw the poll, then saw sales as a factor. Surprised that Nintendo isn't winning this poll now

Forgive if I am wrong but I always thought it worked like this.

Company "A" owns IP and has in house studio develop title = First party.

Company "A" owns IP and has outside studio develop title = Second party.

Company "A" does not own IP and outside studio develops title = Third Party.

I am pretty sure Demon's Souls is 2nd party and not first party because while SONY does own the Demon's Souls IP, they did not develop the title, From Software did and From Software is a 3rd party studio.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

You should be more surprised that Nintendo is actually close in the polls.

This site is typically more sony user centric, has been ever since the year where LBP was going to be released. If you were to do a general poll outside of VGC in an almost even environment, Nintendo would most likely win.

PS3 Hands down for me.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

@bmaker11 sales shouldnt affect how or if a person enjoys a game

Well, before I even answer I have to say PS3 will be first

EDIT**

What a surprise

At any rate, I have to say Wii, for it contains such great games as:

-Super Mario Galaxy (1 and 2)

-Donkey Kong Country Returns

-MEtroid Prime Trilogy

Nintendo have really raised the bar by releasing games for everyone, such as FPS, TPS, Action Adventure, Action, Platformers, Racers, Puzzle, Strategy etc. So yeah

What good tps games have they released? Just wondering...

"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth." -My good friend Mark Aurelius

there should be a 7th category as well:

7) number of NEW game series launched this gen.

most nintendos games are just sequels or based on games from previous systems. yes, ps3 does have a lot as well (killzone, GT, god of war) but they also got a lot of good new ones like motorstorm, MAG, LBP, modnation, uncharted.

i really cant see nintendo with that many new ones for the wii which are good.

btw some people need to find out what 1st party means....it does NOT mean every single exclusive a platform has.

Neither Sony or Nintendo's first party studios develop shovelware. Shovelware should not be considered when thinking about the quality of their respective line ups, that's just complete crap. Both Nintendo and Sony have world class first party studios that develop some of the greatest game experiences to be found, and suggesting they are responsible for shovelware is just absurd.

Wii is the only answer that is a FACT everthing els is just idiotic opinions
