cars 2?? do you think it will pass harry potter and stranger on tides!!?

but it might have a chance for biggest animated film for the year

Why not? Toy Story 3 beat harry potter last year.. heck 5 of the top 10 grossing movies were animated films.. and with less competition from other animated movies (only Kung Fu Panda 2 and maybe happy feet 2) it has a shot..

well maybe but his is the last harry potter in the series! like how big halo 3 sales were when it launched or mgs4!!!

there hasn't been pirates of caribbean for long time so that should do well if it recives good reciption like dead man's chest or curse of the black pearl but cars 2 could do morethan 600 million for sure if it's as good as the first one as a lot of little kids enjoyed the movie and dragged their parents along with them so that increased sales anyone we'll find out the biggest movie year at the end of the year

Probably Harry Potter but I'm rooting for Sucker Punch

Until The Dark Knight Rises releases, The Dark Knight's record won't be beaten.

Glad to see TDK still holding onto that record :D

I'd say Harry Potter... but I think we should also consider Cars 2, it could make some serious numbers !

FW record?

Yes

Since I only consider worldwide numbers in my decisions, It'll clearly be either Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides or Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.  Mostly becuase they're both entries in tried and true franchises that do remarkably well overseas, both with 3D helping sales hardcore....ticket sales will plummet, but look at alice in Wonderland, it is one of I think seven fims to make over 1 billion, mostly due to 3D.

Domestically, Transformers has it since Transformers 2 was a juggernaut and this third entry actually looks like it's going to kick ass.

Worldwide, though, I'm going to have to give it to Potter.  why?  well, it's the final entry in the biggest film franchise of all time (even edging out Star Wars), and Deathly Hallows part 1 was pretty well recieved and is fresh in everyone;s minds...much as I love pirates (my alltime favorite movies), At World's End was iffy in most people's eyes and it's had 4 years to simmer down in the collective memory.

Plus most film geeks despise pirates 2 and 3, in spite of the general public loving it (hence the huuuuge box office returns)
