Yes, the E1000 is the new one. I don't know. Perhaps it IS undertracked in others, or perhaps they just shipped out a whole lot of them. There is usually a contract involved in production and perhaps they cut some retailers a deal to take them early. It's also possible that it's undertracked in others. This in a way does relate to the 360 as I've said that it's likely both undertracked and overshipped in lieu of the price drop.

THe other thing is that we are always undertracked on psp. Every year, every month, every week. We always see upwards adjustments.

< theprof00 posted something on NiKKoM's wall:

No, you can never be "more logical" there is logic and illogic. It is not a value.

Grey market in China is resale. Bought in HK and resold in China. And those countries are emerging markets. They probably are responsible for about 15k each.

I have been to China a lot these past few years and the grey console market is really booming http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/chinas-grey-market-console-base-2-3-million-units

and http://www.techinasia.com/thoughts-xbox-360s-potential-china/

15k? more like at least a million

on 12 May 2012

obviously you didn't read what I wrote in the language that I posted it in.
There were reports by one of the lead guys with MS in China who said the install base was about 3M. Those other countries, for THAT PERIOD OF TIME would only be maybe 15k. You're talking about a console that didn't even do 30k in a first world country (Japan) during that time for that part of the world.
THe big consoles in emerging markets are ds and ps2. PS2! No way are they going to buy something, or be able to afford a console, which on the grey market is easily 3-4 times the price we pay.
THe Vita is in the Chinese grey market for 6-700$ USD.

on 12 May 2012

Also, you listed China as being a place where "sold" 360s are. There are none. It is only grey market, which aren't tracked. Therefore, the countries you listed should have excluded China. I already know about the grey market, I wrote a thread about it months ago.

on 12 May 2012

I'm sorry, but you think where the "missing" MS consoles are.. You think they are stashed in a secret MS warehouse.. then I give regions which we don't track which could and likely explain where those 360s are.. even on the grey market the consoles need to be build and shipped from somewhere.. and the Vita is about 450 dollar in CHina on the grey market. Piracy makes the Wii and 360 extremly popular in emerging countries, the new middle class wants them.. But it's ok cause if you haven't visit those countries you wouldn't know the incredible growth some countries make.. But if you want to think MS stashed them away in a warehouse in the US be my guest..

on 12 May 2012

So what you're saying is that the numbers have been fine this entire time in other regions....we've been accurate despite not knowing what those countries sell, for years....and then suddenly a MILLION consoles go to those small countries.

I'm not saying they're not undertracked. I'm saying your solution is not an argument against mine. It is phsyically impossible for those countries to make up that difference.

Not only that, but the emerging markets we do show, show strong preference for ps2 and ds. So it's not only that those countries you listed have to sell much more than we understand them capable of, but they must also be bucking the trend of emerging countries that we DO have data on.

And don't talk about my theory like it's retarded please. Using words like "stashing" and (I believe you also at one point said "in ONE warehouse). It makes you look unprofessional.

on 12 May 2012

I'm confused.. So a few small countries and a large on like China can't have a few K consoles (not a million) but 20 stores and some place for the internet sales can? I'm sure MS reserved some consoles for the 99 dollar test but not a millon.. I do think we are undertracked and missing crucial sales data in a country like China.. For example every Hong Kong resident got 6000 HK dollars (700 us dollar) free in march from the goverment.. I know for a fact that Apple shipped extra iPhones and Ipads. pretty sure MS did the same... Just don't act that all high and mighty with your theory when there are other theories.

on 12 May 2012

Again. There are no sales in China. You're talking about HK sales. Ipads are actually on sale in China AND on the grey market. That means that retail chains carry them, people buy them out, and with a nation-wide lack of stock, they are able to charge whatever they want.
360s are not sold retail in China like ipads. They are bought from HK or Mexico and then resold. Those do not count as sales.
MS has had, at times, over two million consoles in warehouses WW. What was their highest stocking? 2.4?
You act like having consoles in warehouses is incredible when it has happened before.
Further, look at the charts. WHile we don't necessarily track those countries, we do make add sales from them. It is a paltry amount (and I will repeat) that has been accurate for years. Your counterargument suggest everything about those countries being the exact opposite, and suddenly multiplying a hundred fold over the course of a couple months.

Again, to repeat myself, I'm NOT saying we aren't undertracked in those regions. Do you like pretending like I didn't say things so that you feel better talking shit? I agree we could be undertracked on them, but at most we're looking at 100k, because we already have them for a couple hundred k.

I also said in the thread that my theory doesn't explain a million. It explains maybe 400-500k.I love how you keep writing my theory for me. I guess it helps you feel better about having no clue where the consoles are.

on 12 May 2012

I mean, it's easier to just change what people are saying and talk shit than it is to come up with your own theory right? At least, easier than whatever it is you came up with there.

on 12 May 2012

lol... so which tracking agency is tracking HK and Mexico so we can compare vghcartz with? I'm saying that we have wrong numbers for those countries cause 1. we are undertracking them and 2. we underestimate the grey sales from those countries to other countries like China... let's be honest,, vghchartz is not the best tracking site.. let me ask you another question.. we have like what . a 2+ million difference with the PSP? Where are they if we are in line with the know trackers like NPD? Don't you think they are undertracked in regions vghcartz don't really have a good eye on it?

on 12 May 2012

I meant to say We could have wrong numbers

on 12 May 2012

Maybe you didn't read that there was a psp price drop in everywhere but the USA?
More consoles always get shipped in the event of a price drop.

on 12 May 2012

really? last price cut in europe was in april 2011.. to 129.. didn't know about another pricecut.. after that they released that awful no wifi, mono sound model .. ha maybe nobody bought that one and that is the reason that there is such a big difference

It's 120V, 60Hz in Ecuador, is it the same as U.S.A?

I think so.. I'm from Europe so I'm not 100% sure... just get a wall adapter with 120v 60hz compatibility

*Ahem*

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=142869&page=1#

I get them from Ebay so I can check the seller a bit more then from Amazon.. you can't really go wrong with the adapter cause it's a standard USB charger.. heck I even use my blackberry usb wall charger to charge my iphone... the cable is a bit trickier.. I have 3 extra cables (work, gf place, bag) and the work one is from lower quallity cause I can see the rubber coming of... just be sure you get a newer cable and not an old one like this one http://www.amazon.com/Charging-Cable-Compatible-Apple-iPhone/dp/B0032GRZ3E/ref=pd_rhf_se_shvl1 the white part on the phone side connection is much larger on the old ones then the new ones and won't work on newer iphones... I shouldn't be too worried you might lose 5 bucks..

on 01 May 2012

I'm much more worried about the wall charger TBH, since I bought one that makes the Touch Screen crazy and renders the iPod unusable while it's charging.

I have a iTouch 4.

Also, this is a reason why many people are not that fond of Apple. I mean, $30 for the Official Wall Charger? That's insane.

Hey, I'm not sure why but I'm really interested in hearing your feedback on this short film I made. Somehow I felt burdened to seek your approval while making it. Damn this power you have over me Nikkom.

It's good, funny, only next time turn off the auto white balance.. it makes the shot more stable in colors.. keep up the good work! but which of these handsome men are you?

on 01 May 2012

There was not time for me to shoot a scene. Thanks for the advice.
