My question is why was there such a huge boost for PSPs in Japan? So much that it pushed right above the Wii...

2 new Monster Hunter bundles and improved availability.


So most likely PSP will go back down next week? If not the Week after.

The XBox 360 continues to lead the pack with it's strong American sales. Even with Japan and EMEA low 360 sales, the system still takes 1st place this week. Imagine if 360 popularity in Japan increased. Japan is really the only region that's hurting the XBox 360. XBox 360 sales are decent in EMEA compared to the compeition.

Problem is not EMEAA but just the Middle East , Asia and Africa... From that Ps3 has a Lead of >20K this Week... So they are pretty much tied on Europe and 360 winning Americas.. Next Gen is gonna be funny :D

The PSP just had to resolve it's shortages  this week, gaining a 100k boost. It just had. It is  the second biggest seller in a single region.

360 #1...Yes! I am just happy that nobody can use that statistical tie crap LOL(I don't care about PSP &DS.)

Overall, the 360 does deserve it...I don't own one but Microsoft has done an amazing job with Kinect making it the next big thing. I have played it and it is fun...I just think they should upgrade it a little bit. If it could read fingers and other things...well, it could be even bigger.

PS3 is doing good though 360 put a gap in between them this week. Japan #'s impress me.

Wii is doing fine IMO considering it is now facing Move and Kinect and has had nothing big since New Super Mario Bros. Wii and nothing new since Motion Plus. Wii should be able to hold its own until Nintendo acts with a Price Cut or the Vitality Sensor.

I don't know about that. The 3DS comes out in Japan next week on Sat - Feb 26. So I honestly don't expect the the PS3 to lead the way in 2011. The XBox 360 is also outselling it worldwide overall.

Only to be dethroned months later by some other handheld device! :P

I actually think 360 can be market leader as well, if the only can kick it up. 

Depending on how fast Nintendo can make them after initial 4 milion shipment ;)

But still I think we haven't seen PS3 in such position at any point of it's life so far.

I must have stepped in some alternate dimension, where the Wii is being outsold by PSP.  I think it needs another WiiSomething or MarioSomething and fast!
