DS adjusted over PSP for 2010? Only thing I can think of although that wouldn't really annoy many I think.

I suppose that would annoy some people... Although it would be quite amusing too, considering that we have already had an article up on the site about how the PSP beat the DS for the year there.

Wouldn't be too good for the sites (And his, seeing as he wrote it) credibility, really. So it's hardly anything for him to put a smile about. Unless of course he cares more about the DS beating the PSP, than actually helping this site move forward... Which I doubt.

Well they certainly are not going to be very different then Media Create or Famitsu so what kind of surprise could there be?

Here's the thing though, Famitsu numbers for last week have just recently been published and they are VERY different from Media Create's...

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

I'm moreso surprised at Gundam Musou 3. It's not falling hard like both of its previous editions on the PS3.

It's improving slightly on PS3, but not near enough considering there's no PS2 version of GM3.   The 360 version also dropped significantly this year, GM2 overall was nearly 250k ahead of GM3 at this point in it's cycle.  All in all, the game is decreasing significantly. They really should've done a PS2/Wii/PSP SKU to bump sales and keep the title sales flat overall.  Maybe they'll do a 3DS version or something down the line, since there's no way they'll hit that 700k target on just PS3/360...

How so? Do you have the numbers?

My wording was not precise enough, by last week I meant the data for the week ending on January 2nd. The Famitsu numbers for that week were just recently published, and they are very different from media Create's.While MC had Wii by around 1k over PS3 and PSP slightly above DS for that week, Famitsu's numbers for the week of 12/27 - 1/2 are:

DSi: 111,635

Wii: 97,117

PS3: 69,606

PSP: 69,068

PSP Go: 6,914

360: 5,151

DSL: 3,158

PS2: 2,532

If Dengeki is also more in alignment with these numbers than MC's, it's just possible that due to that VGC may do adjustments to its numbers and that's what The Source meant. Or maybe this week's numbers are also very different.

Its the DS / PSP thing. I'm annoyed about it since literally 20 minutes after I wrote the article about PSP beating DS we got data in saying PSP had sold out in alot of general (but not game) retailers. So there is an adjustment to the data. It basically pushes DS over PSP by 4k for 2010. So its actually closer than what we have right now (13k for PSP). The reason I smiled about it is because 4,000 out of 3,000,000 for both DS / PSP is a comically small difference, close to 1/10 of 1% of 2010 sales, and clearly within the margin of error, but its going to drive some people nuts.
