haha.
I'm not sure it did. As a new IP from a Western developer with a somewhat muddy positioning - was it a platformer? was it a creation tool? was it both? was it something else? in a seemingly very depressed console market (I mean, lots of titles seem to have underperformed in Japan this gen outside of the absolute sure fire franchises) it seemed to sell as well (or badly) as anything else.
I will note some of the best, wackiest levels were created by Japanese players, and there does seem to be a niche of great Japanese level creators, so I remain curious to see what they do with LBP2.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
Why the people here think LBP failed in Japan? The game sold 171,370 by VGC... so how many western title sold that?
LittleBigPlane done very well in Japan.
And I can expected 200-250k for LBP2... great numbers.
Because most of the japanese gamers that bought a PS3,bought it for Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid games only.
