Forums - Sony - Why in the land of platforming (Japan) LBP failed so miserably?

it Really  failed? it sold good actually, japan doesn't do gazzilions sales like US sales.

another reason is Kowenicki hates asians.

could it be that as a "platformer", its pretty awful?

well do you remember that one article a few months back that said japanese like linear games?  well other than the actual story mode, lbp is a pretty non-linear game i.e. creating levels and being able to choose from thousands others create.  i would guess its for that reason it flopped there.

I dont find it funny. not remotely.

because you take everything way too personal.

I don't know about Japan but as a platformer lover I can say LBP is a pretty weak platformer so that could be why it's not insanely popular in the land of platforming.

Maybe approach. LBP released at a tougher time for PS3 and maybe they also didn't extend the word strong enough.

Whatever the case may have been, the opportunity to turn it around with LBP2 rests with Sony. It's got mainstream market ability (especially in Japan), so they really need to push it as hard as they can.

Maybe, but Sony did have the game bundled for awhile. It was available bundled with the 80gb PS3's (black, silver, white colors available) with 2 DS3 controllers (instead of the usual 1 DS3). They also had the game available bundled with just a DS3 controller, so you could join in with a friend if you already had a PS3 (but not an extra DS3). I remember seeing a lot of promotion for it when it released, at least initially.

No because what you said is innapropriate.  I dont take things personally at all... but beign called racist isnt acceptable as a joke.

No, Ko is right, calling someone a racist is kind of a big deal, you have to approach it with extreme care.
