True, and yes I am underestimating it. But only because I don't think it's going to be that huge.

Q4 is at the end of March? I rather see that happening at Q1 ...
But who knows...So much can happen..
Yesterday people would call you an idiot for making this thread..Today many will agree I guess..
I think its posible yh. Im gona keep my mouth shut about sales until about a month after kinects launch. Kinect has the potenshal to be a BIG seller. (though everyone already knows that lol)
Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

Interesting. You underestimate it, yet you don't think it will sell much. So which is it? Because if you think it won't sell much, you're not underestimating it. If you are underestimating it, that means you think it will sell well.
Author of science fiction and other genres, I write under the pen name Desmond Shepherd. The second season of my series The Permanent Man premieres on November 11, 2014. Pre-order the season premiere The Walls Have Ears on Amazon today!
I get the feeling Sony are gonna ramp up Move advertising right around when Kinect launches to try and draw some of the focus away from it to their own products.
It comes down to 2 things. If Sony can meet, or possibly even beat, their 15 million projection. And if Microsoft can match their Oct-March 2008-2009 shipment numbers. At the moment Sony is 9.1 million shy of their target, but they've said that they could potentially beat that target. For the sake of argument let's say they do beat it slightly, shipping 9.6 million units by the end of March. That would mean that 360 would need to ship less than 6.7 million. In the 2008-2009 time frame it sold 7.7. Whether or not they can match that basically comes down to Kinect, although looking at the YOY comparisons for the coming weeks in 2008 looks like a relatively steep comparison even with Kinect coming out. It's possible PS3 could take the shipment lead by then but I wouldn't put good odds on it.
I believe Sony was able to ship additional PS3 this past Qtr because they had the new Move SKU to get out in all markets in addition to the existing SKUs. Guess what MS gets to do that this Qtr with the Kinect SKUs. I suspect that 360 shipments will jump dramatically over the past two years holiday Qtr.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

That's the kind of shit you really gotta sit there and think, what the hell does he mean by that.

Go check ioi's explanation for the adjusments and learn a bit about how the market works before insulting everyone by posting such BS. |
The only BS here is Sony's shipped numbers. Please explain this to me:
Jan-March 2010: According to Sony, PS3 shipped 2.2 million
During that time, PS3 sold 950.9k in NPD, 530k in Media Create = 1.48m North America/Japan.
April-June 2010: According to Sony, PS3 shipped 2.4 million
During that time, PS3 sold 640k in NPD, 310k in Media Create = 0.95m North America/Japan.
Sony shipped 200,000 more this quarter despite selling 530,000 less in North America and Japan, and who knows how much less in Europe? Surely sales didn't go up in Europe while going down everywhere else, right?

Sorry bro, they can't lie about that stuff. |
So everyone else lied then? Or are they shipping far more than they're selling, in which case shipped numbers don't really mean anything when comparing it to the 360 because Microsoft don't overship by a million units every quarter!
