Forums - Sales - EMEAA UP 28. august

Two weeks in a row for X360 HW sales at over 90k level. Good boost from an arcade sku. And last week over 200k WW, nice.

I think that X360 sales are above expectations of many people ;)

And Snipers sales went up again O_o

That Arcade SKU is really making a difference. Also just when the PS3 was gettting close to the Wii the gap widened.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

360 Arcade bump in EMEAA spread across 2 weeks with sales increasing 15% last week (after adjustments) and holding steady this week as Arcade releases in more territories. I defnitiely thought something was a bit off with last week's initial 360 numbers having no bump at all for Arcade release in a number of key markets on the 20th.

Note WW last week for 360 is over 200K now from adjustments. Will be interesting to see if it manages 200K this week. I wonder if there's anything that will keep 360 above 100K in Americas.

Uncharted 2 is the oldest PS3 game in the top 50, nice. And coming up to it's 1st birthday.

Say bye-bye to PS3 having a little plus sign on it's YoY comparison %. Next week it's going to be down by over 200,000 units. Bam! 10% of it's worldwide YTD YoY lead wiped out by a single region in a single week.

Edit: how come the "plus" sign doesn't show up in my posts?

aaaaaaaahhhh, back from holidays

I was wondering what could make the 360 sales that high since the Slim release

I should have knew it : THE Arcade sku.

it is why the 360 is still 5.4M above the PS3 ... It would be crazy for MS to not release a Slim arcade ! Well played.

Time to Work !

Next week is the one year anniversary of the PS3 Slim/Pricecut? That'll be an interesting week for sure *starts building of protective bunker*. Anywho, its good to see a bunch of older titles out there legging it out in the top 50. Uncharted, Rabbids, heck... Mass Effect 2 is showing some decent legs!

because that sign is doomed since the beginning of VGC 3.0

@Giggs

the difference between this year and last year isn't 94k on the 360 :P

I guess you meant 49k

EDIT: and it's actually a 5 at the end, not a 6.

thx for the table btw.

Seeing what the temporary price cut did in the UK for the Wii last week, I wonder if certain members will still insist that software alone is what moves consoles... I've lost count of how many times I've had that discussion in here, price is really important.

Sales are decent, 360 still doing great numbers and will likely settle around the 70-75k mark then all is said and done but by then the holiday season will be close to kicking in. PS3 not doing so great imo, up only 12% from last year (didn't the Slim launch this week last year?), could start to go stagnant at the current price point in EMEAA. Wii keeps on heading downhill, PSP will be at its deathbed this time next year and sorely needs a successor at this point. DS stilll doing extremely well, especially when factoring in the age of the system by now. Nintendo refuses to rework the Wii to spark hardware sales but hasn't the endless DS models, the PS3 Slim and 360 Slim shown that it works like hell? How about a price cut and a new model, Nintendo?

It did, unless you're talking about VGC time which is always one week behind.

Should be around 220k down next week YOY
