WTH? forum ate my post!

FFXIII is the most disappointing game of the generation. It's boring, monotonous, and features two of the most annoying characters, Hope and Vanille, in the Franchise's history. Simply put the game isn't fun. FFVII, FFVIII, and FFX-2 were my least favorite games in the franchise. I'd rather play each of those games to completion in succession than ever play FFXIII again.

I think the game was nothing short of phenomenal. I have played a ton of RPG's including all of the Final Fantasy's. It easily ranks up in my top 3 or 5 without even giving it much thought.

 

There is all this complaining about " no exploration/ its too linear. When really all those complaints are just trying to find something to complain about. Sure there isn't very much, especially compared to other Final Fantasy titles, however different is not bad. I think the battle system was by far one of the funnest and most engaging one i have ever played, thus being one of my favorites.

Anyways, i think the game was a masterpiece for sure and gets a little unfair criticism

Nah. That's Fable. I can't even believe I paid money for that garbage. I will actually pay someone to get it out of my house. I'll throw in the 2nd for free.

 

Anyways. It's a great RPG and FF game. But it isn't my favorite and there are better RPGs out there.

Dude, I am glad we agree I hate fable with a passion too!!! The gamplay was so simple. Also I should correct my statement I meant the game that will make you quite JRPGS.

I might as well throw in my opinion here.

Fable is the best WRPG I have ever played and one of the best game last gen.

Guess you haven't played Witcher yet. 

As for this thread: Decent, but lots of better RPGs out there

Yeah the Witcher is pretty damned good. I can't speak to Fable 2, but Fable 1 was my biggest disappointment of last generation. So much hype, so little substance. If I ever hear "Chicken Chaser" again it will be far far too soon.

You know you can always get your named changed in fable! :P But Fable 2 isn't that much of a step up from Fable 1. If you disliked Fable 1, I can't see you liking Fable 2.

Lol at all the amazings, I thought it was fun then slowly I realized everything was just the same. Cutscene, Grind, Run past eneimes,Mini-Boss, run past enemies, Custscene, Boss. Repeat.

...that's THE common patern in JRPGs.

I played a lot of WRPGs. Fable is still on top.

No it isn't. Play Opoona, Golden Sun, Secret of Mana, etc.

EDIT: Well yes it is common in the genre now, but that only confirms the notion that FFXIII is mediocre (even bad). Final Fantasy used to be at the top of the JRPG genre, now it's run of the mill below average at best.

Good FF, one of the best for sure. It didn't deserve all the mauling it get when released. FFVI, FFX and FFXII are better for me, but still a solid 8.5/10 or 9/10 in my book.

Pros:

- Great graphics

- Very good combat system

Cons:

- No cities

- *minor spoiler* Missed chance for a cool relationship between Fang and Vanille.
