Forums - Sales Discussion - September, October, November are Stacked - What are the Casualties?

Looking at the West, these months - particularly with Oct-Nov are absolutely stacked with content.

For Wii you have:

September: New Carnival Games, Samurai Warriors

October:  NBA Jam, Just Dance 2, Kirby, Wii Party, Deca Sports 3

November: DKC Returns, EA Sports Active 2, Pokepark, Slingsmash. Epic Mickey / Udraw too are likely

DS:

September: Layton 3

October: Final Fantasy: 4 Heros, Art Academy

November: Mario vs. Donkey Kong

PS3:

September: Move / Move Games, Eye Pet, Sports Champions bundle

October: Little Big Planet 2

November: Gran Turismo 5, Ape Escape

X360:

September: Halo: Reach

October: Fable III

November: Kinect games (Dance Central, Kinect Adventure, Kinectimals, etc0, Kinect Bundle

PSP:

September: Kingdom Hearts, Phantasy Star Portable 2

October: Eyepet, Invizimals

November: Patapon 3, God of War

Multiplatform Releases:

September: Batman: Brave & The Bold, Guitar Hero, My Sims Sky Heroes, Dead Rising 2, Lord of the Rings, Shaun White Skateboarding

October: The Sims 3, EA MMA, NBA 2k11, DJ Hero 2, Medal of Honor, Def Jam Rapstar, Force Unleashed II, Castlevania, Fallout, NHL 11, Rockband 3, Tony Hawk Shred, WWE vs. Raw

November: Assassin's Creed BH, COD Black Ops, PES, Need for Speed, Sonic Colors (Wii/DS), Goldeneye (Wii/DS), and probably Michael Jackson, Harry Potter, Create

If you divide it up on how key titles are likely to perform lifetime you have:

            5m Sellers+

Wii: DKC, Wii Party

PS3: Call of Duty, Gran Turismo 5

X360: Halo Reach, Call of Duty

           3m Sellers+

Wii: Kirby, Just Dance 2, Pokepark

PS3: Little Big Planet 2, Assassin's Creed: BH

X360: Fable III, Assassin's Creed BH

DS: Art Academy

Pretty much everything else I think is subject to performing less than expected...what do you all see as the major titles by platform and what will be the casualties? Should be a banner holiday for top software in the West - my hunch is HW / less big sw will suffer a fair bit though.

DKC likely to sell above 5m? I wouldn't say likely.

Fable III is supposed to reach above 5m based on their expectations. You don't think it will?

And you forgot quite a lot of games like Sly Collection, DC Universe Online and Vanquish.

The first DKC on SNES was huge and the Wii has a bigger base than SNES ever did - it will be huge.

I have a feeling Vanquish will be looked over, and FlingSmash for the Wii as well.

Medal OF Honor will be the casualty.

Hows the series been since  that game?

OT:
I see several caualties.

Medal of Honor
GoldenEye 007
Vanquish
Need For Speed
Donkey Kong Country Returns (Not really gonna sell bad, just a lot less than a bunch of people here think IMO)
Random PS Move/ Kinect games that aren't advertised well enough.

1 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 X360 1 93,989 435,916
3 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PS3 1 35,354 314,047

Those were the final preorder numbers for Bad Company 2.

3 Medal of Honor X360 9 15,680 247,715
4 Medal of Honor PS3 9 6,708 222,140

I think the Holidays boost will make up for the competition.
