do u think ALAN WAKE, will out sell HEAVY RAIN'S 1st day sales ?

yes 94 40.00%

no 86 36.60%

maybe 55 23.40%

Total:235

I was going to wait on Alan Wake until the reviews came out and maybe for a sale before I jumped in. I am a Halo fanboy nerd x1000 and will likely be playing nothing but the Reach beta during this time, so I figured, what's the rush to buy it? But then I won a bunch of money at the casino last night so I just pre-ordered it. LOL

So +1 in sales. I'm not sure on this one, but we shall see soon enough.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

@ heedstone

I believe his argument is in regards to the tone of your comment, that "360 owners havn't had a hell of a lot to play this year" Let us take a look at the below lists. Both list contain great quality, and a share of crap (IMO).

Your definition of AAA is up to you, however, if we use the Metacritic scale for this year, PS3 has (2) 90+ meta's, and 360 has (2) 90+ meta's.....WASH.....perhaps, but that is up to your personal tastes.

I, personally consider games like Heavy Rain, FFXIII, to be AAA in my book even though they are sub 90 on meta. Another would be the 90 Beyonetta got because of a better build on 360 in comparison to PS3's lazy build. However, 90 is a 90 if you go off metacritic.

PS3: (19)

God of War III
Heavy Rain
Resonance of Fate
Bayonetta
Moto GP 09/10
Just Cause 2
Yakuza 3
Final Fantasy XIII
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
MLB 10: The Show
Major League Baseball 2K10
Last Rebellion
Aliens vs. Predator
Dante's Inferno
BioShock 2
MAG
White Knight Chronicles (International Edition)
Mega Man 10

XBOX 360: (16)

Mass Effect 2
Metro 2033
Bayonetta
Just Cause 2
Resonance of Fate
Moto GP 09/10
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
Final Fantasy XIII
Major League Baseball 2K10
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Deadly Premonition
Aliens vs. Predator
Tropico 3
Dante's Inferno
BioShock 2
Mega Man 10

Now I know the above list is missing PSN and Arcade titles and some others. However, in comparison the big-name titles are listed, and show an almost equal library.

So if 16 games in comparison to 19 games is "havnt had a hell of a lot to play this year" you can clearly understand why you original comment was rather humorous. Perhaps you should research before you post.

OT:  I went wth no.  I feel that the support Heavy Ran has received wll surpass the support Alan Wake will receve, and thus, Heavy Rain will have better 1st day sales.  But I will probably be wrong....

Haha, holy shit, I can't believe you actually went through the hastle of making up a (pretty pointless) list.  Can you honestly say that someone might be struggling to decide which game to buy between Alan Wake and Sonic & Sega all stars racing?

I'll refer you to my previous statement:  Gamers only have a finite amount of time and money.  There have been more AAA titles released on PS3 this year so there is a lot more competition on the PS3 than the 360.  Therefore, if 2 equally good games are released on both consoles, the 360 will sell more.

Multi-platform games gan be eliminated from the discussion as they compete equally with PS3 and 360 game releases.

Low selling games cannot be included as they need to actually be bought in order to compete with other Games.

There is a lot of competition on the PS3 at the moment.

Here is a list of the High Selling PS3 exclusive games this year:

GOW3

HR

MAG

White Knight Chronicles (International Edition)

Uncharted 2 (still sold bucket loads this year)

God of war collection

Here is a list of the High Selling 360 exclusive games this year:

Mass Effect 2

Quite a short list isn't it?

The idea that a game has to sell well makes no sense, if it's available to the people who own the console then it counts as far as "360 owners havn't had a hell of a lot to play this year".  You can't just discount games because they didn't sell well, that doesn't change that it was available for 360 owners to play.  Not to mention that counting a game that is selling good amounts this year but wasn't made this year makes even less sense.

...

@heedstone

It was actually an easy list, I simply went to meta, coppied what released on the main index page and pasted it here.

The responses were not to your last post, but your initial post.  You only re-clarified in your second post because your initial post made you seem foolish.

In your second post you refered to AAA titles, not "high selling titles" (but, nice try though).  Stop backtracking and trying to defend that fact that you initial and secondary posts scream bias.

My list was to simply point out the fact that your comment regarding "360 owners havnt had a hell of a lot to play this year" was silly.

Thank you for proving me right....it is appreciated.....

Of course it has to sell to compete with other games, that's the whole damn point!!!!  Gamers have a finite amount of time and money.

Most people cannot buy every single game released, so they have to make a CHOICE.  They can either buy one game (eg. HR) ar another game (eg. Uncharted 2).  Hence, the Games compete with each other.  The more sales one title gets, the less others will get.

This is also the reason I can include Uncharted 2 - is competing with other games for customers money this year, even though it came out last year.

@thetruthhurts:  So you were only disagreeing with my wording of the argument?  I admit saying "360 owners haven't had a hell of a lot to play this year" was i bit flippant.  So I retract that statement.  Everything else is just basic economics though.
