The idea that a game has to sell well makes no sense, if it's available to the people who own the console then it counts as far as "360 owners havn't had a hell of a lot to play this year". You can't just discount games because they didn't sell well, that doesn't change that it was available for 360 owners to play. Not to mention that counting a game that is selling good amounts this year but wasn't made this year makes even less sense. |
Of course it has to sell to compete with other games, that's the whole damn point!!!! Gamers have a finite amount of time and money.
Most people cannot buy every single game released, so they have to make a CHOICE. They can either buy one game (eg. HR) ar another game (eg. Uncharted 2). Hence, the Games compete with each other. The more sales one title gets, the less others will get.
This is also the reason I can include Uncharted 2 - is competing with other games for customers money this year, even though it came out last year.
@thetruthhurts: So you were only disagreeing with my wording of the argument? I admit saying "360 owners haven't had a hell of a lot to play this year" was i bit flippant. So I retract that statement. Everything else is just basic economics though.
