You know what I always wondered?
Why doesn't VGChartz just have a donate button; to assist in operations of the website?

Now, it may seem like things may get corrupt if too much money is sent, but there could probably be a monthly cap that clearly defines what the site deems necessary in order to run. I figure if people like a website, they may want to contribute a few bucks to it. Hundreds of VGC users have jobs and money, and probably wouldn't even notice throwing like $5 into the site every once in a while.

The only problem is that the site is very slow enough already. In fact it is the slowest site I visit, in any part of the internet. So in order to reduce the slog, people may ad-block to lighten the load it taxes on their computers (VGChartz makes the computer work much harder; you can hear the fans going).

Who cares if it does go over what the site needs to run.  It's not like Vgchartz is some kind of non profit charity.

Well most of the ads on this site gives trojan warnings and some wants me to buy really obscure tings that's not suitable for a younger audience.

Its not the ad blocking thats the problem, its your ad policy. If you actually had ads that promoted game related products, like Qpad or Razor etc. One probably wouldnt mind. But your site wants me to purchase fake diet pills and offers me sexy underwear. Thats whats wrong with your ads! Seriously! Stop crying over loss income just because your "customers" dosent wan't to be fed with obscure products.

IGN even has a "learn how to disable this ad" feature.

Also... on the subject of analogys, Gordon Ramsey's F Word says hello.

This seriously pissed me off!

Complaining that people dont 'buy' their product when there's no demand for the product. Like a Tv station going on record whining about people switching channels when there's a commercial break. This is just amazing. Horrible business management!

Most of the ads give trojan warnings? Now that is just an outright lie. No one would use this site if that was the case

Never argue with idiots
They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience

A few ads aren't a problem, but this site is the slowest loading site I go to, period. I don't know if it's because of too many ads, or the site has too much flash, but it's a problem. By comparison, try Blues News, another gaming news site here: http://www.bluesnews.com/ . See the difference? It loads in 1 or 2 SECONDS! And he makes a living off his site alone, so maybe it's just a matter of greedyness....

Or maybe he's one guy running a simple news site vs a paid staff of 10+ people running a news site, sales tracking service, review team, pr team and so on...

Well then, if you want you can compare your site to other big sites like CNN, Gizmodo, Boing Boing, even the incredibly ad overloaded Treehugger site, they all load in half the time as your site. I use Opera, and I don't block any ads, but i'm tempted too! How about limiting the file size of your ads, get rid of some of the flash, just make the site load faster and you won't get any complaints. I enjoy the forums and seeing the numbers, but sometimes I just want to say screw it when I see how long it's taking to load..ads.

At the moment I see 3 sexy Final Fantasy XIII and one Firefox ad on the main page.

I may just have to turn it off for a second!

Holy crap. Some of you guys aren't kidding when it comes to the loading. I kept like mini-freezing from that damn DA:O ad up top.

I don't have a problem with ioi complaining that people shouldn't block ads because it costs him money. If he wants to block site content if ads aren't shown, that is his right also.

But ioi, please stop with the "you don't have the right" to block ads. I have every right to block an ad that will load something onto my pc. I have every right to block it even if I just don't want to see it. Then you have the right to deny me content if you wish.

I guess when people complain about the site's accuracy from here on out, we will no longer hear the excuse "what do you want for a free site".

I have never used ad blocker. I am a good boy.
