But what about the guy, Nathan Fielder. He's well known in some circles (particularly where I currently live), but for a lot of people this seems to be the first time they're hearing about him. For those who aren't familiar with him. He's a Canadian comedian from British Columbia who first became successful in the Atlantic Canadian comedy scene with the TV show This Hour has 22 Minutes.

To give some examples of his comedy and character: this one is from about 20 years ago → 

He had a character on This Hour Has 22 Minutes where he'd play a business professional who was very horrible at helping people out, and it got it's spinoff show "Nathan for You", here's a clip: I recommend at least watching the second segment →

My wife was off work yesterday and decided to go see it by herself lol her initial reaction was a 10/10 masterpiece, but she has since dropped it to a 9. Still supposed to be an incredible documentary. I’m excited to watch it!
