Performance is roughly equivalent to a PS5.

A $1000 PC with a 5060 in the current market will stomp this thing. Idk how they got to this price point but it's a terrible price for what you are getting. It is slower than an RX 7600/4060 for 2+ years ago.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Interestingly it seems to ship with a single 16gb stick of ram. So out the box it does not have dual channel memory, hurting performance. Good for those that want to upgrade to 32GB of ram, bad for those happy with 16gb.

Hard skip. My PC is better than this and I have a PS5

I truly wonder how much this thing will sell, will it even be more than 500k lifetime?

Imho, some people will still try to make "spins" and try to sell the argument that this is somehow a better purchase than a PS! lol
Terrible pricing, it's DoA. Only hardcore collector will see value in this.

I have no idea why Gabe wants to lose money. Cancelling the whole project was the smarter choice and simply wait for a better time in the future. There is a reason I no longer watch DF, Rich is so desperate, jeez.

There we have it. The first £1k system, you can now basically guarantee the next PS5/XS price rise will follow suit. Hardware industry is basically dead.

Well, that's my interest in the thing completely gone. Even at half that price I would find it difficult to justify getting one.
