The Steambox fans were right, Nintendo is doomed.

I truly wonder how much this thing will sell, will it even be more than 500k lifetime?

nineties NEO GEO pricing without the power or the exclusives.

The steam deck is at what? 5-6m by now?

This will do far worse, one because of the price and two because it's far less useful to current PC gamers. A handheld pc makes more sense as a companion to your desktop than this.

I would think that the majority of the kinds of people willing to spend 1k to game are just going to build their own machines. I seriously do not know what market they think this is for.

I think Steam Deck is around 6M maybe?

I expect around half the performance here, even with the insane price, it'll have a niche.

3M is the most I can see it doing by 2030.

Ouch that's awful value for those specs. For almost everyone it makes a lot more sense to spend some extra and get a significantly better customized PC or spend less and get a console and the hardware market is fucked currently but this is so high that it makes me think that it would've still been priced too high even if market conditions were normal. This thing is DOA and its gonna age poorly with those specs so even if it gets a big price cut in 2-3 years it still won't be a good buy really. Maybe the third time they try this will go well.

Physical Games for this one?

Half the GPU power of the outrageously expensive PS5 Pro for only 1.5x the price! Doubtless SteamDeck and the GabeCube are ending consoles once and for all.

Doesn't have a disc drive, but dunno if it can accept an external one throught USB.

But physical PC games are not that common to begin with.
