Forums - Gaming - Google bans Doki Doki Literature Club from their store due to "sensitive themes"

Around the Network

Censorship and the banning of anything labelled problematic, transgressive or sensitive is a cancer on society.

We are going backwards because of a minority of authoritarian bereaucrats who have hijacked our institutions.

The game is really heavy, a bit after it first launched I was watching videos about it and I found it quite disturbing, I wouldn't even tell my GF what it was really about because she had the kind of thoughts this games showcases the worst outcomes of.

It is actually a good game tho, disturbing doesn't have to mean bad, it makes you think too. But I really wouldn't recommend people going throught depression or the likes to check it out at all.

Even so, getting it banned, specially almost a decade later, is really stupid.

First the "porn" games then this next will be M rated games. Movies/TV will be next.

I banned Google from my search engine due to sensitive themes, too. Specifically, my data.

I use Startpage. Did you go Bing? Duckduck Go? Startpage or something else?

I'm guessing it's the suicide stuff that's got it taken down. But it's pegi 18... Completely stupid when there's plenty of content with that topic on the playstore. Netflix App for one. Life is Strange also features it and is on the play store.

Google is run by a bunch of pussies.
