I was simply sleeping and dreaming and this vivid game came to mind.

3rd Person Platformer 1v1- The main game is a 1v1 multiplayer game. Each match is  Best of 5 and each round is less than a minute by design. The goal is to knock your opponent off his tower, secondary goal is to knock your opponent's "queen" off.

Inventions- During the singleplayer campaign you can get components. The components can mix together to make various different inventions. For example in my dream, one guy had a freeze ray. His strategy was to set up for the freeze ray and then knock the other guy off his tower.

Changing map- Every map is different and changing. You start on your own towers of course, but you can jump over to the opponents tower with some easy platforming. But the positioning of these things could be different each round, making it more dynamic. The Main guy in my dream lost the first round by playing defensive, but then changed it up by jumping over in the next round and clown fiesta shenanigans happened. Each map has different traps that can be sprung. If both players simply jump over to the other's tower, then it is a race to knock the "queen" off.

Branding- The characters in my dream were laughably from The Simpsons. But it could be anything.

Basically I dreamed up a 3rd person Platformer (Astro Bot inspired) 1v1 with a little bit of Smash Bros mixed in. Feel free to make this game, I am not a game designer lol.

My dream game is a Divinity OS 1 or 2 like game with all it's complexity with two changes, third person over the shoulder combat in any of the top action games styles, souls, Sekiro, Stellar Blade etc and level design that is open like Elden Ring, less so that TW3 but with those sort of section by section opening up at choke points.

Someone will get their eventually. Either Larian, CDPR, Rockstar or some Asian dev with something to prove. Bethesda, Bioware and others have failed to get their although they were closest and had the most potential.

Not any specific genre, but I have had the idea of a D&D Souls-like action RPG milling around in my head for a while.

I once dreamed of a racing game with Cartoon Network characters.

I remember Gumball and Darwin driving a strange vehicle that I can't tell exactly what it was. Uncle Grandpa driving his trailer, Mordecai and Rigby driving a golf cart, Steven Univese driving what looked like a magic F-1 vehicle, and Robin from Teen Titans Go driving a bike.

It was like a Mario Kart clone, and they were driving in a city at night, full of neon lights. It looked quite cool, but then I woke up.

A murder simulator featuring toxic paint in guns fired by fish-like people.
Those crafty bastards at Nintendo copied my idea!

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

yeah. Last night, I came up with this game of some dude getting stranded in some remote location filled with these unfamiliar plant-like creatures. They look up to the man as a leader, and work with him to get all him a device for traveling out of this stranded location. They only have like 30d to get all the man's equipment before he runs out of food supply (or if we're on a different planet, maybe he runs out of oxygen). It'd be a pretty fun game. Y'all think if I pitched it to Miyamoto, he'd give the greenlight?

It would never work ... especially not for 4 games and counting

hmm…4 games sounds oddly specific. What if I pitched they do 4 mainline games, a spin-off title in between the third and fourth game, and a mobile app similar to Pokémon Go to launch a year prior to the fourth title? And the second game could literally just be an asset reusing sequel, so not much risk there. Could even consider doing a short series on YouTube animating the plant-like creatures doing their day-to-day routine, as a means to get the franchise a bit more attention.

Still highly skeptical ... but that sounds slightly more reasonable
