Will Super Mario Bros. Wonder Have Online Play?

Yes, I think so. 12 42.86%

No, I don't think so. 16 57.14%

Total:28

This is something that will probably be answered in an upcoming Nintendo Direct, but I wanted to see what people expect beforehand?

The game will obviously have couch co-op but do you think it will also be playable with friends online?

The similar Sonic Superstars won't have online play so I'm not that interested in it.

If Nintendo is serious about pushing the Switch Online then they should include it as an option in one of their biggest release. I let my Switch Online subscription expire, the only reason I had it in the first place was to play Super Mario 3D World through online co-op with a friend. The lag was horrible but it was still nicer to play with someone than alone.

What do you think?

This is such a tough prediction that I'm so close to saying the odds either way is 50/50. I'll narrowly say online is slightly more likely than not.
Nintendo's online infrastructure continues to be pathetic, but I do think more and more games over time will have online features.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 48 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

i think there will be online features to the game but, no online for the main campaign. that's a step too far for nintendo.

If Wonder was going to have Online play, it would've been listed on its page on Nintendo's website. Here it is compared to Super Mario 3D World. So it doesn't look like it'll be the case, unfortunately.

I feel like they would have said it by now if it did. Maybe we will get another Super Mario Wonder specific direct before it comes out that shows online play off.

Doubt it

It would be baffling if they didn't include it.

I give them 50/50 odds.

I predict they wont include it.

There are numberous Nintendo games (I feel this is one of them) where Nintendo seems to do the bare minimum when the obvious feature to include just doesn't exist and won't ever happen.

That seems to settle it, which is disappointing. Unless they are planning to hold back announcement of the feature to drum up excitement at a future Direct. But that looks unlikely. Also it seems the game will have in-game purchases...
