Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Staring into the abyss of a world where Nintendo has no games scheduled for release. Edit: The Time of Darkness Has Arrived

What, they have huge 3rd party support now but that doesn't cut it for some people? Surely they don't think that anyone's first party can be be prolific enough to keep them busy playing all the time?

Nintendo should release mature games like GTA for me to consider buying.

Surprised the mods haven't picked up on your randomly posting your irrelevant video links in threads these past couple days.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Wow. During Wii U Nintendo had large droughts between first party games and no third party support. The current situation is night and day from that. There have been loads of games on Switch this year with something to play every week and at least a few big titles a month, even if most have been from third parties. Nintendo have still put out a few gems this year and will continue to do so later on in the year. Let's be patient and support the third party efforts.

I'm pretty sure this have an impact on the release schedule.

Sorry, I don't know how to embed a tweet.

You can see the second wave (bigger than the first) of infection in Japan on the tweet.

Not revealing a game when you don't have anything scheduled at a later date is a bad. Why the fuck would people buy a system when they don't know what games are releasing in the future, revealing a game at a good time before release increases overall awareness for a product since and prepares potential purchasers to have the money to get the game. You're an idiot if you don't understand the simple concept of having more time to unveil and market a game increases the sales and brand awareness of a product since it gets people talking about the game more and more for a longer time. As a Nintendo fan I'm frustrated not to know this information because I want to see the actual game to get myself hyped again about Nintendo and get me excited again not doing this is idiotic. Stop being so content.

Like Marth said, the pre-existing library is why people buy the system. You act like we don't know literally anything about the future when BotW2, Bayonetta 3, Silksong, Bravely Default 2, Metroid Prime 4, SMTV, and probably more exist. I'm not an idiot for knowing these facts and deciding not to get mad lul.

And yes I am content for I have so many games to enjoy. I have no desire to care so greatly about shallow hype especially after seeing how miserable it's made you.

Maybe they buy it because of the software it already has?
It's been over 3 years on the market, awareness for the product in the usual gaming market is already there and Nintendos current goal is to broaden the appeal of the system and its IPs (see Ring Fit, Brain Training, Animal Crossing, LEGO Mario)

As I once stated Nintendo does not owe you anything. If you bought the system its because of the games that have already released and there is a big enough library to not run out of games anytime soon.

If you buy something because some thing might happen in the future then maybe you should rethink your buying habits. Or put your money into the casino or stock market.

Nintendo does owe everyone something because we're the ones that keep them alive, if they don't give us anything we desire they die, simple.

Yes evergreen games help sell a system even well after release I'm not arguing that. However, you can't live off of evergreen titles to sell your system on its own because in most cases, people interested in that game already purchased the system around launch. There's a reason why no one is going out buying a Wii for Mario Galaxy in 2020. Nintendo can't let the excitement of there brand slip again, they need to come out with new unveilings and game releases for the future to keep consumer engagement again, I'm sure potentially millions of potential purchasers are currently holding off buying a Switch because they currently don't see much of a future for it.

Because it's 14 years old now, there's been two new generations of systems since. The Switch is only 3 years old with some of it's biggest games not even a year old. Obviously they can't sell forever, but they can sell for a while, and for the Switch it's not even been a notable amount of time yet, Paper Mario just came out. It doesn't make sense to say they would even think of giving up new games and relying entirely on evergreens at this point when you even agree Nintendo obviously has more games for this year alone, and there's a decent amount we already know about the future.
