So it's the second time I've come across the issue of not being able to download/install a game even with way more than suficiente space available for it there.

I needed to delete both Lords of the Fallen and The Evil Within (plus 3 indies) last time to free up space for Final Fantasy XV, but the thing was massive and I can understand that it needs more space than the game uses (maybe double like the PS3) to install a game, so I was not that much stressed over it, but this time it's ridiculous.

I knew I would need a new HD since after that, and I'd just ordered a new 4TB external HD today and it looks like my PS4 knows it...

Today I tried to download Super Meat Boy, a 170MB game, with nearly 19GB of free space and the fucking thing doesn't let me do it because it apparently doesn't have enough space... wtf.

It's like saying I can't fit a person into an empty bus because there is no space...

Is there any way to solve this thing? I'll move all my physical game installs to my new external drive as soon as it ships but I want my damn space into my internal drive as well, they already take over 50GBs for the OS, that's more than enough.

19GB of free space and you can't download a 170mb game? heh

Any chance that 170MB comes with 19GBs of updates maybe? Probably not, but it would be pretty funny and explain things. Oh well, when you get your new 4TB these kind of problems will be a thing of the past for you

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

Yeah I buy Super Meat Boy and I get 20GBs worth of correction patches, that might be it!

Sounds like a random read Europe error.

You should probably rebuild the database, even though that happens automatically with each OS update.
Maybe that will fix the issue.

I have no constructive suggestions for you, but I love the tagged game XD

Excited to hear you are getting a 4TB external. That will set you up for a long time. I have 4TB Internal SSD, and a 5GB External HDD. With 227 apps installed, I am at just short of 4TB in total between the two.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. I think the PS4 reserves "some" space for updates.

That makes no sense. I had a similarly puzzling issue about a year ago, but the game file size and HD space discrepancy wasn't as pronounced as the one you're dealing with. Hope you can get it working properly again.

Delete system 32. That thing takes up tons of space.

I guess what you'll just have to do is wait until the hard drive arrives before being able to download it, unless you're willing to delete some games.
