Did I hear somebody say Star Control 2?

http://sc2.sourceforge.net/

Get it, play it, love yourself, thank me later. Available for Linux, Mac and Windows, so you really have no excuse.

Here's a title to add to the list:

Base Wars. It's baseball... with fighting robots! You earn money which you can spend customizing and upgrading your team with cool weapons and movement systems.

I don't remember if startropics had a map, but it did have this piece of paper that said "Important don't throw away" I must of been one of the few people who did keep it. It was important, at one point in the game you get a note in a bottle, at which time you were supposed to get that piece of paper and get it wet to reveal the secret code to use the submarine (the code was either 373 or 737, i think?)

@rocket pig

bionic commando!! That was a great gem of yesterday.

Ah, right! I'm having a flashback moment, now. And they called it 'Startropics' because you navigated using the stars and constellations -- specifically the southern cross.

Bionic Commando was fantastic. As was the original Contra -- to this day, one of the best co-op gaming experiences of all time.

Blaster master (NES)
That shooter/adventure hybrid game where you move in your avatar and shoot stuff and get upgrade for your guns and also your ship. (NES)
1942 (NES) - I was glued to the TV playing this one when I was still in public school.

I just thought of some great puzzle games for the NES

Adventures of Lolo I, II, and III

also Kickle Cubicle

Great puzzlers that will push your brain skills.

First of all: UFO. That game is always worth to play it again. Pinball dreams: How many hours of my live was sacrified to this game. One must fall: The only good fighting game for PC I know of. Descent: Real 3D and very clever enemies. Day of the tentacle and Monkey Island: Don't miss the LucasArts-Adventures.

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023

10 years greatest game event!

Forgot about PC adventure party
Day of Tentacle
Monkey Island 1,2 and 3 (4 sucks)
Full throttle
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Sam e Max

I think they are all from Lucasarts and they are the best adventures you can get your dirty hands on.

NES:
Shadowgate (point and click adveture/puzzle solver)
De'Ja Vu (Like Shadowgate)
Uninvited (also like shadowgate)
Burgertime (also on Colecovision and I think the 2600)
Willow (similar to Zelda movie based on the movie)
Zoda's Revenge (Startropics' sequal)
Hogan's Alley (light gun game)
Trick Shooting (another Light gun Game)
Lifeforce (gradius style shooter)
Bart vs the Space Mutants
Ultima 4 & 5 (3 sucked on the NES but was great on the PC)
Bubble Bobble 1&2 (2 is extremely rare)
Wrath of the Black Manta (ninja game)
Battletoads (frickin hard as hell)

I could go on forever with NES games

The Adventures of Lolo (nes)
Gargoyles Quest (Gameboy)
Flashback (Sega Genesis)
Demon's Crest (Snes)
Earthworm Jim (Genesis)
Axelay (Snes)
Tetris Attack (Snes) :Mom still plays everyday!
Eternal Darkness (Gamecube)
Blackthorne (Snes)

I'm trying to name games that should be on the A-list, but don't get the respect they deserve.

Hahaha Commander Keen!!!!

I reckon Another World on the SNES is an underated Gem for sure, but it is available for Mobile Phones now from Jamster.com so I was pretty stoked to see that there.
