I don't remember if startropics had a map, but it did have this piece of paper that said "Important don't throw away" I must of been one of the few people who did keep it. It was important, at one point in the game you get a note in a bottle, at which time you were supposed to get that piece of paper and get it wet to reveal the secret code to use the submarine (the code was either 373 or 737, i think?)

Ah, right! I'm having a flashback moment, now. And they called it 'Startropics' because you navigated using the stars and constellations -- specifically the southern cross.

Bionic Commando was fantastic. As was the original Contra -- to this day, one of the best co-op gaming experiences of all time.
