 Hmmm..... interesting.....

Winner of the GT5 Prologue Middle East Challenge Ahmed Al Azmi recently got the chance to sit down with Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi to ask him a few questions about the latest game in the series. Kaz spilled the beans on rubber band AI, specific track questions, online races, and other goodies.

Perhaps the most most interesting tidbit to come from the interview was a comment Kaz made on the release date. When questioned if GT5 would hit in 2010, Kazunori laughed and said the title will be "released sooner than expected".

If FF XIII makes it out in the US as well, then that will take the crown
I think that 5 will make it next year, and then that will win
Uncharted 2 should also sell well, Sony will market it much more, and after the success of the 1st game, the 2nd should sell even better

GT5 WILL be the best selling game which PS3 has until GT6 releases, just look at past numbers for the games for further proof. FFXIII in Japan alone will easily hit a million, I expect for at least a month the PS3 to sell 70K consoles the month the game releases.

God of War 2:

0.04 million in Japan

1.6 million in America

0.67 million in Others

Total: 2.31 million

 

God of War Chains of Olympus:

0.04 million in Japan

0.91 million in America

0.33 million in Others

Total: 1.28 million.

I simply don't see any other title that's high profile enough to beat God of War III.

 

Imagine the sales of GOW one a new system with a less reliable installed base. 2 million at the most LTD is what I predict. The PS2 which harnessed great sales couldn't gather enough to carry GOW through. GT5 will run multiples around GOW's 09 sales. It's sad people want to put a game like GOW up on a perch where it doesn't belong.
