Ok answer me this... Did Nintendo spend more time on casual games during their conference or hardcore games? What about when they talked and showed videos, were the majority of hardcore games playing or were they of casual gamers? I didn't see Nintendo's E3 presentation so I'm not sure of those answers so that's why I'm asking. But from what I heard it seemed that Nintendo focused a lot more on casual.

Actually, they re-emphasized their commitment to both the hardcore and the casual. Reggie said this, oh, about 5 times during the conference.

I'm doing an even more extensive list of the Gamecube top-seller titles now, and including third party titles. A sonic game is up there on the list: one is already out, and another is production. Mario Party is up there on the list: in production. Resident Evil is high on the list: a remake is out, a new one is in production. Paper Mario is high on the list: already released. Kirby's Air Ride is up there; I think we can all assume that a Kirby game is either in production or will be soon. Soul Calibur II is on there; I'm sure Nintendo would love to get IV, but Legends will do fine. Finally, Final Fantasy: Chrystal Chronicles is the 20th best selling game on the system, and it has a sequel coming to the Wii. Of the top 20 or so best selling games on the Gamecube list, I see maybe 5 games that haven't had a sequel officially announced/released on the Wii, and of those 5, most are assumed to be in production. New Hardcore IPs are being developed to, as Disaster: DoC attests to.

Honestly, what more can we expect in the first year of the system's release? I mean that.

They spent more time with Wii fit, and im happy for that.

You know most of the things you are going to get with Mario kart wii (fun races, fun battles, mario chars, power ups etc) however Wii fit was something really new. It was well worth the time it got.

"Wii are legion, for Wii are many"

I think you're missing the point of the article I posted... Read it again. He is talking about Nintendo and says Nintendo games like SSBB, MP:3, and SMG will be few and far between from here on in. He said that after going to Nintendo's Gamer's Day. The only way he would have been proven wrong is if Nintendo announced 3-4 hardcore titles of their own for the Wii. The only one people here mentioned was Super Mario Kart... So we still don't know yet who was right and who's wrong... Maybe the Tokyo Game Show will be where it's decided... If they announce a bunch of hard core titles I'll admit they the article was wrong.

OK answer me this... On the floor how many casual Nintendo published games were playable and how many hardcore? And what were the impressions about those? E3 is not over at the end of the conferences.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.

Look guys, lets just wait until we find out who was right and who's wrong... That'll happen next year, if we still remember this.

No - that's a copout. I want to see crow SERVED!

Hmm... have I made any predictons that proved false? I still think there's a chance that the PS3 never hits 30 million, but that's far from proven one way or the other.

The guy who's saying the PS3 will beat Xbox sales this year, and Wii halfway through 2008 should really start practicing the fine skill of bird consumption.

Look at it this way. Sony is in the hole deep. Now tell me, are you going to lower the sales cost and lose even more money on each PS3 sold further compounding your losses over the holiday season or are you going to keep it 600 and gradually lower production costs allowing for a better return and let the Holiday season sell a boat load of the more expensive units before considering a price cut? Besides I don't think a Single Sony fan should want a PS3 price cut, if they have so much faith in the games, they should relish the fact that Sony will be making their money back sooner by keeping the price where it is.

Also, think of the psychological fallout, a price cut sounds good to you who already owns a Ps3 and wants more people to own one, but at this point it wouldn't sound too good to a perspective buyer. Crazy you say? Hear me out. Imagine a console dropping in price, $100 or $200 dollars in its first year, not even the Dreamcast went down the shitter that fast. You drop the price on the PS3 now and yeah, you'll have a considerable sales spike, but no where near what it could have been because you've just scared off the majority of potential buyers by taking the action of a company trying to liquidate stock before abandoning a product. Who wants to buy a console that's about to die? And even though the PS3 isn't dying, try telling that to the casual consumers whom don't keep up on Sony news and whom you've just made shit themselves.

"Starting Monday, the current 60 gigabyte model will cost $499 _ a $100 price drop."

Gballzack, please enjoy:

Wait... I don't see why GBallzack has to eat crow?  From what you just quoted, she was actually quite insightful in what she said.  In fact, what she said was very true.  She hasn't been proven wrong at all.

She never siad that the PS3 wouldn't recieve a pricedrop, she merely listed the repercussions the pricedrop would cause.  Even if she did elsewhere in the thread say that a Sony pricedrop would not occur, I would be far more impressed if the repercussions she stated did occur when the pricedrop did happen.  Thusfar, she is correct.  Now we wait...

Crow can be delicious if you know how to prepare it...

If you're right about that one, there's still a chance I'll be right about the Wii Balance Board outselling the PS3.
