My next three:

20. Sequel to 19.

19. A boy and his cat bring democracy to the moon

18. I saw one of this SNES game's most famous scenes sung in Omaha on March 21, 2013, which was the composer's birthday. I got to meet the composer in person and he autographed one of his games for me.

18. Final Fantasy VI

#22

a) This is the first entry in a series, where you command a group of units through various missions.

b) Steal… *ahem* research the technology from defeated enemies.

c) Missions are turn-based, but outside the mission you manage your bases, troops, equipment and funds in real-time.

#21 Guessed by Darashiva: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

#20 (kinda) Guessed by The_Liquid_Laser: Fire Emblem Awakening

#27 Super Metroid

Still the third best game in it's own genre to date, Super Metroid is a classic that has truly stood the test of time. The pixel art is highly detailed without trying to push the hardware of the SNES too hard. The result is something that looked awesome back then, and still looks good today. "Better looking" SNES games like Donkey Kong Country, or Starfox have not held up well. Super Metroid has a better run n' gun feeling to it than the Prime series thanks to it being a 2D game. This makes the boss battles a lot more fun than the Prime series. The story is simple but comes with a surprise twist at the end. I think it's an even better ending than finding out Samus was a girl in the first Metroid game.

#26 Neir Automata

Yoko Taro, and Keiichi Okabe, teamed up with Platinum games to create this masterpiece. Previous Neir games were great with the story, and sound, (thanks to Yoko's writing, and Keiichi's music) but sucked with the actual gameplay. Bringing Platinum on fixed this with Automata. The game is just as good of a hack n' slash as any of Platinum's other games, but it also includes heavy RPG elements thanks to Square's input. This game's story is about human made Androids, and Alien built machines engaging in a proxy war for earth. Not all of the Machines want to fight, and not all of the Androids have been told the truth about the mission to take back earth for humanity. The game's story is excellent for two reasons. First, it explores a ton of philosophical ideas like whether or not machines can be truly sentient. Second, the game can be replayed with different characters for different endings. In fact, the game demands that you uncover every ending in order to get the true and final ending in the game. This means not only beating the game with every character, but beating the game with the same characters in multiple ways. The game shatters the 4th wall by asking you to do the unthinkable in order to leave a lasting mark on somebody else's save file. The music in this game is flat out the best I've heard in a videogame! Just give the above a listen!

Castlevania: Symphony of the night

Correct!

#22 - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night: My friend had a Playstation, while I was still on the SNES, when I was around 13 Years old. Every morning, before school, we used to play SOTN at his house, trying to beat the game. He doesn't had a memory card, so we had to start over every day. It took some time, but we managed to get the "bad" ending after some time. Also, this is the best Castlevania ever.

22 sounds like an Elder Scrolls game, most of which I haven't played.  Skyrim?

Right franchise, wrong game. Skyrim doesn't give levels for walking or jumping, and the weapon choice is more lacking.

The only Elder Scrolls game I've played is Morrowind, so I'll guess that one.  (I suppose I should have gone with it first.)

Dammit. I've fallen behind.

#26 - Bowser's Inside Story: Guessed by TruckOSaurus

This game is brimming with charm. My favorite in the series. One of my favorite battle tracks of all time.

#25 - Batman: Arkham City: Unguessed

What an experience! The world is so full and rich with details and dialogue and amazing characters and locales. The combat is ever fun and engaging... and what an ending!

#24 - Pikmin 2: Guessed by Mnementh

Whereas I liked the mood of helplessness in Pikmin 1, in this one you feel like a badass, and that's awesome. The caves are ever-fun to explore.

#23 - When you die, you need to go back to collect your loot (and it's not Dark Souls)

#22 - It wouldn't be unreasonable for you to believe the initial city is all there is - and then you realize it's just a dot in a giant map.

#21 - Dark Coffee

#20 - Turned the 3DS from a laggard to a powerhouse.

#19 - Who'd have thought this beautiful, azure, game would ever come to switch?

#18 - The last 20% of this game wasn't even part of the original release, but it is widely considered among the very best parts.

#17 - Me and my talking boat.
