The ps4 has absolutely no right to be topping the chart in year 6. No right whatsoever. How does it pull it off?

If the tool for February is correct, no way PS4 was that close to Switch in NA.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

PS4 and Switch are really neck to neck, nice to see some competition.

Yeah, I expect some major adjustments after NPD and then again for all after the quarterly reports.

Which tool is this? What way are we expecting adjustments? Down for PS4 or up for Switch? Or just a wider gap in general?

Hmm...  there is a huge dissonance between these numbers and what the NPD tool is projecting..

This is gonna be interesting.

It compares sales positions at Amazon, Best Buy and Gamestop to predict the sales ratio between the different consoles, and for February the tool pretty much expects switch to outsell PS4 2:1, and that PS4 and XBO sales are very close to each other, with a slight edge for the XBO.

So if the ratio is correct, then Either Switch and XBO need to get massively uplifted or PS4 is selling about 30k too much in the US per week (or any mix of the 2).

Wow, that's a neat tool. How accurate has it proven to be thus far? From that first post, it looks like save for a few exceptions it usually gets the winner right and Switch and PS4 pretty closely, but not so much with Xbox, but that it's been getting better over time.

Outside of the holidays (which gets scewed too much by promotions and rush sales in brick&Mortar stores) and after some adjustments it is pretty close to correct, just preorder bundles are still throwing the whole chart off sometimes. But there are none for February, so no problem there.

In other words, I thrust the tool more right now than the numbers we have for this week.

When was the last time that a 6th year old home console sold more than 200k/weekly at $299??
