That's a lot of Nintendo games at the Top 20.

Also, congrats to PS4 for the 7 million sold.

Japan sales has become really boring for me since a few weeks. PS4 really needs some big new releases there.

Ok so this is absolute domination. It (the Switch) went above the baseline of 50k a bit, which surprised me. The top 20 is almost all Nintendo except for 3 other titles. That is impressive.

On a side note, the PS4 will pass 7 million soon.

Splatoon 2 to hit 4m in Japan at this rate and this is still early days before any price cut and when the Switch really starts selling like a handheld over there, if Splatoon 2 continues its performances over the course of the next few years it could go into mad territory of 5-6m in Japan which few games ever reach.

Here is the week 33 update in terms of the two big consoles in Japan's path to be able to reach the commonly stated (in these sales threads) estimates for 2018 sales (2 mil for PS4, 4 mil for Switch) .

  TWS GD YTD AWN (Change)
PS4 25,843 -18,893 1,131,118 45,730 (+994)
Switch 54,647 -69,619 1,569,320 127,930 (+3664)

TWS - This week's sales
GD - Goal differential, the difference between the average week needed from last week compared to this week's sales
YTD - Units sold in 2018 so far including this week's sales
AWN - Average weekly sales needed to reach the estimate for the console.

Solid increases for both PS4 and Switch. AWN increase now well more than triple that of PS4 for Switch.

When does Cold Steel 4 launch? Since I think that might be the next big Japanese release for PS4.

Soon as in this week's update? It's at 7,023,521.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Ps4 7m celebration baby. So many people doubted it would ever get there. 8m and 9m easy. Teaching 400k+ ahead of ps3 aligned and every week it will increase for a good while. It hit 10m and ps4 will too. Possibly 11m and beat the ps3. GG.
