Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee reveal trailer

I'm not really a Pokemon fan myself, but I do find all of this interesting. I'm pretty sure they will be able to bring in some new people to Switch with this Pokemon Let's Go game, but the question is how many? I do think it will be more successful than Labo, but the question is how much more successful? Will it double Labo, or will it become a phenomenon like Wii Fit? Hard to say.

Looks like Nintendo sees this as a big November release though.

Do we have a price yet? With how greedy Nintendo has been lately I have no doubt it'll be $60 despite being ~18% of a full Pokemon game. Even so, it'll no doubt be leagues more successful than Labo. It's still Pokemon, the first one on Switch playable on TV, so even if it fails to attract Go only players it still has plenty of dedicated Pokemon fans to fall back on. They wont all get the game of course, but if US/UM could still be successful then no doubt this will too. Jeez I say no doubt a lot.

It is $80 AUD. Basically a normal price for home console games. The handheld pokemon games cost $60 here

Pocky Lover Boy!

The good news is: it's not the core Pokemon.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

There were three ravens sat on a tree / They were as blacke as they might be / The one of them said to his mate, Where shall we our breakfast take?

What’s funny is that I’ve just convinced myself that having no online would actually be a good thing, and then I come back here to see that there actually is online! 😂😂 And now I don’t want it hahaha.

If it helps, there definitely won't be any serious completive play in this title as they have announced there will be no ranked battles. It'll mostly only be for fun, trading and battling with your friends and stuff.

I dont understand those people. First of all, we are getting another title in the pkmn world. Thats great. Mainline, Go, mystery, pinball and now the lets go ones. Thats great. Second. No one forces anyone to buy that game. I also never bought any mystery dungeon game. But its good to have it. What would be better? Having nothing until 2019 or having a hybrid go/rpg game for a time until the real one comes out? Instead of basjing gamefreak we should applaud them for bringing 2 rpg games in 2 years. This year smash fire emblem hybridpkmnrpggo, next year metroid animal Crossing and pkmncorerpg. Thats just awsome.

My issue is more with the fact that they announced Pokemon for Switch in 2017, it was listed as "2018 or Later" in financial reports, the usual May-time of when a new mainline game is shown comes along, they reveal this, and only like half an hour later do they reveal that it's a spin-off. It wasn't said earlier to temper expectations, and there being two versions means one can be forgiven for assuming it was the main game announced last year. All the pieces were in place for how the next main game is usually announced, and they instead announce and will release a GO spin-off for Switch before even showing the main one they announced a year ago. It just seems a tad tone deaf to me, or else they did it on purpose to bring more attention to this.

I guess this was supposed to be the new core Pokemon. They showed it and then they realised that many haven't liked it. Then they panicked and someone came up with the idea of "let's tweet the core Pokemon is coming and in the meantime we rush to make a new one as usual".

:D :D

Doesn't seem too bad, if not too great either. Once I get a Switch, I'll probably get this too unless it turns out bad.

Uh, no. There was never any chance of Gen 8 coming out this year. The only people who would think that are those who are ignorant of Pokemon's release schedule.

Gen 1 - 1996
Gen 2 - 1999
Gen 3 - 2002
Gen 4 - 2006
Gen 5 - 2010
Gen 6 - 2013
Gen 7 - 2016

The shortest gap has always been 3 years. But now suddenly Game Freak is expected to develop their first HD Pokemon games on a home console faster than any previous Pokemon generation? That is a completely illogical belief.

Let's Go was never planned as a core game.

Ah, expected. The trend of overpricing continues on. How about the cost of the Pokeball accessory?

Are people serious doubting let's go success? There haven't been a bad core Pokémon yet, and there for sure havent been a core title to sell bad.

I dont know what the record is but it should be the Best Selling Pokemon Spin off game

The record is around 5m I believe. Not 100% sure if Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explores of Time/Darkness or Pokemon Stadium holds the record, but either way, Let's Go should easily destroy that record. I won't be surprised if it tops 10m lifetime, but I don't see it doing much more than that, definitely not as well as the main series games which have pretty much all sold at least 15m (the first versions I mean).

Oh wow! It should be able to also beat a couple of Third/sequel versions (USUM, Platinum, BW2). But probably not beat any remakes (HGSS, ORAS)
