When was the last time anybody was really SHOCKED at anybody's E3?

For me, it's the PS4 reveal, and that is a damn long while.

E3 2015. The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Shenmue 3. Actual jokes coming true, meltdowns everywhere.

Ah dammit. You're right. I slept through that one and awoke to "teh remake" and Shenmue 3 (!!!) happening - looking objectively, not as big as the PS4 reveal, but very noteworthy nevertheless.

Anyway, as my prediction.

From Software will show off whatever game they have upcoming. Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us 2 will probably have gameplay trailers, as will Final Fantasy VII and Death Stranding.

Spyro Collection will be announced, probably along with Crash Team Racing.

The only thing that will probably surprise me would be Cyberpunk 2077 showing up.

A lot of people will be happy with the show.

after shenmue 3,FF7R,KH3 announcements in the past, i cant imagine anything else that would legit shock me out of my pants again

Sorry off topic, but: I can't believe that was almost 3 years?! ago already. Good choice though. I can't think of a better recent example. The juxtaposition of the Sony and Xbox 2013 conferences is close. Just re-watched them recently and it was worse than I remember. Felt a little bad for Phillip as he spoke to an audience that audibly, was wildly unimpressed with what they heard. Including the "Xbox sucks!" guy breaking the silence, which I never caught back in the day. 2013. The golden age of Subway. Right before we found out their spokesman was a child molester selling poison bread.

Poison bread?

There’s quite a bit they can do. Let’s hope they show a lot of new.

They will provably still surprise us, but as things are going right now, they’d probably be just fine with just showing what was already announcedb

That was a thing? huh, I never noticed that either.

I find it hard to feel sorry for Philly boy though. Microsoft really did screw the pooch with that E3 show, I doubt there will ever be a console reveal handled that badly again.

Yeah. It was cringy, but kinda funny. If you listen for it, it's not too difficult to hear.

I'm exaggerating a bit, but it was a mild scandal. I remember Jon Stewart going off about how the media was giving the story little to no coverage when they did a story about it on The Daily Show. A fair amount of people have never heard about it.

They can shock us, but I was disappointed with their E3, TGS and PSX last year, so I'm going to try to just expect it to be shit so that I won't be disappointed.

The things that would surprise me probably wouldn't be from Sony. Chrono Trigger remaster (Square already has too much on their plate), KOTOR III or remaster, Cyberpunk release sooner than thought, etc. I can't think of anything Sony themselves could reveal that would shock me.
