Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Prediction: Labo is going to flop

Sales prediction of Labo (in millions)?

<1 17 13.49%

1 12 9.52%

2 22 17.46%

3 16 12.70%

4 5 3.97%

5 16 12.70%

6 2 1.59%

7 1 0.79%

8 1 0.79%

>8 34 26.98%

Total:126

I think it will sell well, because it is socially accptable to buy this type of toys for children.

Labo will easily do 10m+.
Labo flopping, is highly unlikely.

 it's an extremely polarized product

Is it, though? Most of the negativity towards it coming from forum-dwelling gaming enthusiasts, and frankly their opinions are kinda irrelevant because they are not the target audience.

Yes, it is. Either people are creaming their pants over it or they just don't give a shit. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground there.

I would judge the range as following:

"<1 m -> Flop"
"<3 m -> succes"
">5 m -> Big succes"

I could see >3 m happen if Nintendo puts a decent marketing push behind it.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

The cardboard doesn't seem floppy at all, nice and thick.

As the great prophet M. Pachter once said... some Nintendo fans would even buy cardboard as long as there's a Nintendo logo in it...

Sure hope he's wrong though

Like Curl said, taking the opinion of your average single, nerdy, forum dwelling gamer probably isnt the best for gauging interest in a product aimed at kids & parents.

Hands-on impressions from the target demographic have been almost exclusively positive.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

What will even constitute a LABO sale?

Is the decoration pack on its own a sale?

Does any individual LABO branded SKU factor in as a sale in this poll?

2-3 million would be amazing, I'd say less than 1 million is a flop.

seems like every game nintedo releases is a big hit, i really doubt nintedo would be happy with 2-3 million, they have been pushing it like crazy saying its there next big thing to attract new people to buy switch.

A few trailers on Youtube and an event for parents = pushing it like crazy. It isn't like Nintendo made a whole E3-stand styled for that, like they did with Zelda and Mario.

Nintendo has more IPs tha Mario, Zelda and Smash. Most sell less, around one or two million (Kirby, Yoshi or Fire emblem).

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

It had great potential, its still hard how much exatly will sell difrent types of Labo kits at end, it could easily sell more than 10m, I personaly dont expect less than 5m LT.  Labo will probably pass 2m in less than one month.

I think some people arlready forgot how much popular were things like Brain Age, Nintendo Dogs, Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wii Party...things that are not meant for core gamers.
