Good topic. People are wrong all the time. I can't remember any specific instances myself (probably also because I haven't been that active here recently), but I'm sure I've been wrong plenty of times. Kudos to everyone able to admit their mistakes!

At least you can admit you were wrong, it would have been childish not to really.

Right? I can't imagine being that childish.

What was the punishment you got from your cat from losing the bet? o:

I have to feed him canned tuna everyday.

Joke's on him though...since I would have done it anyway. He's so damn cute!!!

I'm wrong often. I know whiffed on the Switch being huge hit. I was way off on Black Panther's box office success. I though the Eagles were toast once Carson Wentz went down for the season. I didn't think Trump would win the Republican primary let alone the Presidency. Just a quick few off the top of my head.

also, there's a old tweet from someone who said that the switch would do 16 million first year and even better on the second one.Back then i said to a friend that was way too optimistic and foolish, but now i don't even need to say how wrong i was.

I don’t blame you, I thought 10m was already a positive outcome. Now it’s at 14.9m shipped with 2.9m planned for this quarter, so that means it will end its first year around 17m. It’s easy to see it doing 20m+ on its second year actually.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Cant really say I've been wrong about topics ive been involved in thus far. Think its mainly down to me not really being involved in the prediction threads. Only thing that comes to mind that I've posted that I've been wrong about so far is in regards to the last Nintendo Direct we got. I figured we would get release dates and specific information about titles that werent even mentioned, such as Fire Emblem and SMT V and Smash port. I was wayyyy off

#IWasWrong

I remember that time you correctly predicted everything about MGS5 from snippets pulled from trailers and leaked footage...you were right.

Yeah I remember saying  Ground Zeroes was just cut content from MGS V and sold to people as an actual game. But if you looked at the original reveal trailer of MGS V, all ground zeroes game play was in the original trailer, proving it was cut content

good times

I think there were 2 cases where I didn't believe and was against Nintendo's next console being a hybrid, and Nintendo making mobile games since I thought it would cheapen their brand.

Turns out I was wrong. They released the Switch and it turned out to be pretty cool (plus the games on it are good), and they did alright with the mobile games. I've also picked up a few mobile games in the recent years.

I was wrong about those 2 instances.

I thought that everybody would understand my opinions are right and there's were wrong. I'm man enough to admit I was wrong.

I was wrong when I said a few years ago that smartphones wouldn't hurt handheld sales all that much in the near future (Vita and 3DS gen). I failed to understand just how powerful they would become in a short time.

I remember thinking it was ridiculous that those crappy mobile games could ever take away from the handheld market too.

I thought it would take away some from the casual market, but I never envisioned so many studios moving from dedicated gaming devices to smartphones. I was wrong about that piece. It still tears away at my soul to so many great games hobbled by the platform.

I thought Wii U would be the best selling 8th gen console (mainly due to the Wii from the 7th gen) I was super wrong lol. I also didn’t think Switch would sell as well as it has, and thought the 3DS would go out on 65 million. Wrong and wrong.

-I thought Nintendo 64 and Sega Saturn would get more games than this new PlayStation thing because SNES and Sega Genesis got so many games… Kid me just did not understand the world in that way…

-I thought the GameCube sold much more than the N64 because of how much larger the game library was and how popular the GameCube was at the college I went to… Oh how antidotal evidence did clash with thine sales websites I would see many years later…

-I thought the Wii would revolutionize games in meaningful nuanced and totally deep gameplay incorporating motions to augmented actions in a way that was fluid and totally awesome… (While the Wii did have good games) Waggle slapped my imagination upside the brain…  :/

-In 2005, I thought the existence of the PSP was pointless because of the kinds of games it played, the GB/GBC/GBA/DS (and the GameGear) was handheld gaming as I knew it up to that point… 2010 me would discover a massive catalog of PSP games I bought and thoroughly enjoyed making it my largest game collection for any system I have ever owned to this day… :)

-I thought PS3 would have a library of games similar to the PS2 and PS1 (oh assumptive logic :/ )… Yea, my PS3 played more PS1/PS2 discs that I bought after 2006, than PS3 discs…

-I thought PS Vita would have a better library than PSP because the hardware addressed a lot of the PSP’s issues and was going to be a full realization of what the PSP intended to be… The way Sony handled the Vita at E3, etc. after launch, lack of marketing, game droughts, etc. truly wronged us all… Most squandered console potential ever!

(Nintendo Switch redeemed the Portable Full Console Gaming Dream, after Sony threw it under the bus, and stomped on it will all that Doubt and Shade. It is kind of nice that Nintendo is showing Sony what sweet excellent success the Vita could have been)

Well… Now that I have typed all of this out, I realize a lot of my errors have been centered around predicting video game libraries based on the Console's predecessor... X_X
