Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Most DISSAPOINTING Nintendo games?

I would say Star Fox Zero. However, the game itself would probably have been better if it had a traditional control option. I initially wasnt struck by Twilight Princess, but fell in love with it years later with the HD remaster. I wonder if anyone went back and replayed some of these disappointments they might enjoy some of them.

Almost every major core IP that came out on Wii. Waggle+core games=no thanks for me. Other than that, the only two main Nintendo game that I felt disappointed in Wind Waker and Odyssey. Wind Waker for being uninspired, too easy, boring (sailing was not as fun as we had hoped) and a cartoon and Odyssey for being too easy and not feeling like a Mario game.

Star Fox Zero - bad and disappointing
Fire Emblem Warriors - disappointing

Switch!!!

Any Nintendo game with a large following

- Every 3DS Pokemon game, (ORAS was good, but the others have all been middling- outright bad).
- Everything on the Wii U, literally every single game and the console itself (with the exception of Bayonetta 2)

Some games I think have worse pitfalls than the ones i'm about to mention, but also had less expectations so I didn't count them. I'd say Mario Odyssey is the one that comes to mind, though every Switch games has been in some degree disappointing.

Super Paper Mario
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
New Super Mario Bros. U
The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Star Fox Zero
Mario Party 8
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
Wario Ware: DIY
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Super Smash Bros. For WiiU - Just because it didn't have a SP like in Brawl though. I'm not a fan of the core games.

I mean relly!? Pikmin 3, Mario 3D World, MK8, Smash Bros 4, Splatoon, Donkey Kong TF, Yoshi Wolly World, Super Mario Maker, Zelda BoTW..

Only counting games I've actually bought and played...

Super Paper Mario
New Super Mario Bros 2
Mario Party 10

To some extent Mario Kart 7, it was a good game, I just didn't like it as much as ds/wii.

To me PERSONALLY? Well *cracks knuckles*: * = BIGGEST disappointments

Mario Sunshine
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Zelda: Wind Waker
Star Fox: Assault*
Metroid: Other M*
Pikmin 3*
Super Smash Bros. Wii U*
Star Fox Zero*

It's an odd coincidence, that while I like some games on GC and Wii U, both consoles had games I was really looking forward to that REALLY let me down. Star Fox being no exception, as I've been waiting for Nintendo to actually put out a GOOD, worthy successor to SF64, with NO tacked on gimmick bullshit, since literally 1999.

Nintendo has given me a lot of great games over the years. But they are hardly infallible.
